what does this pcv combiner box do? help with boosted pcv set up

I have a turbo system on the way and wanted to get the pcv set up sorted out before hand.

my plan was to leave the tube and pcv valve between the intake and valley area. then take the hoses from each of the valve covers back toward the fire wall, down under the car and put a small filter on them. this would allow clean filtered air into the crank case when the engine is under vacuum and also let pressured air out of the crank case when under boost. the pcv valve should keep the intake from pressurizing the crank case. this would also get rid of some of the hoses on the front of the engine.

one negative is a small amount of air would be getting into the engine while under vacuum unmetered. I don't think that would be a major problem.

is there a better way than what I am thinking. my first road block is the combiner box that connects the 2 valve covers together and then to the intake tube seems to be a little more than a simple y. that contraption drops way down behind the water pump and makes me think it is doing more than just combining the valve covers together. does anyone know what is going on with that box?

Oil separator, it catches any oil from the valve cover breathers, sends the blow-by back into the intake and routes the separated oil back into the oil pan.

Leave the oil separator alone and just add a catch can to the valley PVC. Done.

I'm leaving that box alone and running a Elite X2 set up like this. Once we add boost.

Parish, what kit did you order and I'm assuming its twins? I knew you'd be on the war path pretty soon after purchase. I'm going the Heartbeat and E85 route from Magnacharger. Been talking to Mike (toohighpsi) about the set up and should get it ordered tm on the black Friday deal they have going right now.

I ordered the agp twin low mount set up.

i am not worried about a few drops of oil in the intake. i will be running e85 and before long supplemental port injected e85 so it should clean itself nicely.

my concerns are some vacuum/ventilation on the crank case under normal load to help keep the oil clean and enough ventilation under boost to prevent pressurizing the crank case. it seems like all i have to do is take the line that used to go to the intake tube and put a small filter on it.

my only concern is with a lot of power will that be enough ventilation to prevent pressurizing the crank case. when i start turning it up i might hook up a sensor so i can monitor crank case pressure.

I was actually ripping mine out until I noticed it looks like I need to pull the header to pull it out :/

The middle tube on the plastic box broke on mine so tomorrow I have to make a little cover plate and rivet it on cause I'm not pulling the header just so I can get down to the pipe fitting that connects to it at the bottom just to cap it up...

I need to build a new catch can for my car but got lazy and got some nice 5/8" breather filters from my local Smileys Racing ($6 each SRP Brand) and just put one on each valve cover and the pcv under the intake manifold. They fit beautifully.
