When to do 2nd oil change?

So, I had the dealer change my oil at 500 miles to hopefully get any engine break in metals out early on but was curious about when I should get the 2nd one done? 1,500, 3,000, 7,500?

Is there a proper maintenance schedule for best engine performance?

The dealer used an ACDelco synthetic blend. I've heard mixed reviews on synthetic blended oils.

Synthetic blend is fine, however if you're a hobbyist/forum member, you're going to want to do synthetic…

Thanks Glen! Since it was a synthetic blend I wasn't sure if there was a preferred mileage to go full synthetic.

I did my first at 500 and will do subsequent ones at 5k each unless I have some track days inbetween. Then i'll likely do it at 3k. This goes for both of my cars.

I follow the oil life monitoring system. On my 2011 2LT it would factor out to about 6,000 to 7,500 miles between oil changes.
