Dirk has yours dropped a little more in the rear. It looked like the rear was higher then mine. Did you keep the rear loose until you dropped it down?

Bmr calls it indexing, I've lowered so many cars and trucks that it just something I've always done. Just have to let it settle and do all the tightening on the alignment rack. Measure yours sometime from the bottom of the wheel just to see where your at. Your car really looks good. I like our stance better then the bmr set up.

You need to and should not omit it to slightly adjust ride height. Remember suspension bushings are solid molded rubber between an inner and outer sleeve. Any suspension arm movement twists the outer sleeve with respect to the inner. Correctly indexed movement would be ~x degrees of twist in both the up and down directions. Incorrectly indexed could be as much as 0 twist at full down travel and 2x twist at full up travel resulting in additional stress and premature bushing failure. Suspension bushings shouldn't be working as helper springs.

I would take to your alignment guy and let him break all the bolts loose, retighten but don't torque and drive down the road, then back on the alignment rack. Loosen again and re-align it. Anytime the suspension is in a bind it can cause a harsh ride and as stated above premature ejaculation of the bushings.

If the car is lowered, the bushing will rotate to the new center point. Otherwise, every time you hit a large bump, you'd twist/tear the bushing and they wouldn't last one road trip. The only time I could see this really being an issue is if someone over-torqued the bolts causing the bushings to bind, and that would be an entirely different issue.

Progress!!
Alright guys!!
It has been a long time coming but here is an update on what we have going on. The pictures below will show a factory spring and our new design. The issue we had with the previous batch has been fixed. We are going to put a few miles on our shop car with the new springs just to make sure we do not have any issues, so far we are happy with the fitment. The ride height shows to be about 1/4" higher then the previous springs but we are hoping they will settle a bit and close that gap to where it was before. Once we give the green light to go ahead with production we are looking at about 3-4 weeks before we have them ready to go. I know I have been getting messages on C6, Facebook, Instagram, and many phone calls about these. Stay with us guys we are working on it!! Has the test vehicle settled any more? Current ground to fender height?

The car has settled and we are at the same measurements as the previous springs. The car drives just fine, no issues with any bumps. We have put about 100 miles on the car with these springs and we are going to a show on Saturday that is a bit of a drive for us, so we should be more road time this weekend. I will get some measurements for you shortly. |
