I started to type out a mature post, then decided...its a waste of my time and everyone elses here. This is my last acknowledgement of you so feel free to have the last word, its what you must always do.

On things that matter...

I'll be testing the magnuson S/C install with stock paper vs K&N filters in the next 2 weeks. Very curious what difference, if any, it makes on F/I setup with stock airbox.

Great work sledge, I want aFe to design a inverted cone drop-in like I used in my 14 Cyclone. Getting tired of waiting too, may get a true CAI.

Does this filter require oiling before installing into the stock box? I remember older K&N drop in filters used to require that procedure. I ordered this filter the other day, but didn't order the recharger kit, so wanted to make sure if I need the recharger kit for the initial install.

I was waiting for the GM cold air intake unit, which is supposed to come with new tune. Well, it ain't happening still so I just took Sledgehammer's info, and went ahead with K&N drop in filter.
Can't really tell the gain of 5 hp with my butt dyno, but it fitted in nicely into stock box. I'll just settle with this for now. Who knows... I may run half second faster per lap on track....

Thanks for the great info Sledge I really liked the K&N filtercharger on my '12 2SS. This looks like a great addition to my 50th 2SS

Having the same setup done as we speak and decided to forgo doing custom tuning and CAI, instead just doing the magnuson & its supplied tune plus K&N drop in.

I was told by the Camaro shop here that if I did add a CAI, a tune would be required because I would run lean with a S/C. Tuning a 16 was quoted at $1000 to do it properly. Just too expensive in addition to the $400 CAI for now.

Hope my experience is the same as yours!

another reason I won't spend $450 for a plastic look good pieces to go in place of. I'll spend the $50 for the K&N drop in as Ive always done.

Has anybody tried the Green filter? They are supposed to flow even more than the K&N.
