Front splitter Streetscene.

So I recently purchased an after market splitter. I've read some people getting them painted and wishing they didn't and others saying you really need to paint it. It's a urethane somewhat black, but also has some red markings on it that I haven't tried to scrub off... if they even come off. Question is should I paint it or just put it on how it is. I also figure if I get it painted it will eventually get chipped all to hell and back or hit a spot in our terrible roads here and get rashed.

What do you guys think? THanks!

Put it on as is. See if you like it. Can always paint it after the winter.

Depending on the color you want to paint it, if you decide to paint it, you could always use a spray on vinyl called Autodip. It's like PlastiDip but better quality and you can get it in a gloss black finish. Its more expensive than plasti dip but a lot less expensive than actual paint. If you get chips, you can always respray it and it still wouldn't be as expensive as repainting the splitter. This is the route I would try first if I decide to paint it. Could be a fun DIY project too

I'd leave it black. Do you have any close up pics of the finish?
I've been considering the same ones.

And I'm curious about the installation too. Holes drilled? Just tape? Combination?

Ya when I get a chance I can post pictures and see if you guys think this red part of it will come off. Also according to the instructions you just use the factory holes use the provided 3M tape looks simple enough to install.. doesn't mean it will be simple for me though last modification I did besides the tail lights which were real simple was putting on a power commander on a motorcycle.. estimated time was like 1 and half hours.. took me half a day lol... but that's small areas and big hands for ya.

Please disregard my messy man cave room in the middle of moving stuff in and out . It's hard to see, but there is some red in it at the right angle. Also the pointy front end of it I thought looked strange, but might be normal. It's super light as you can see. That auto plasti dip might be the way to go then and like mentioned can go back over it.. Never used the stuff, but I know a few buddies that do.

I used plasti-dip for mine which turned out pretty good.

Does the texture match the black rear bumper valance were the exhaust tips come out? If so I think that would be perfect!

Is the red you're talking about where it looks like a peel-off sticker for tape to hold it and keep it from vibrating in the Wind?

No not the sticker, I tried to take more pictures of it, but the red is hard to see if your not looking at it in person. It's a slight red tint and might just be something that will wash off I will try that today if I can ever get time.

I think I know what you're talking about. Possibly the release material or a remnant from the mfg process. In the past, it seemed 50/50 if I was able to remove it. Might consider some of the black detailing spray. Like the Back to black stuff or something similar as a quick fix if the red doesn't come off.

Sure thing. LMK how it goes. I'm really leaning towards getting this splitter.
