Anyone living in the SF Bay Area experience the same thing? I have been browsing Camaro6 with plans of buying a 2017 1LE but this issue makes me think otherwise.

Yes but seems to be minimal to non existent as long as I don't keep Recirculation on. Even the owners manual mentions condensation issues if you leave the A/C on recirculation mode.

In Florida it doesn't matter if it is on recirculation or not. Fogs up every day

Anyone who has this issue and considers it more than an annoyance should file a complaint with the NHTSA. I see zero complaints for both the 2016 and 2017 Camaro, so of course GM is not going to do anything about it.

I'm having this same issue with my AC. It does not matter what temperature my car is set to or what speed the blower is set to. When I turn on my AC air mostly blows from the defrost rather than blowing from the AC vents. This does not seem normal.

Fogging on the outside of the windshield problem with gen 6 camaro
My car got rained on the last day I drove it on Monday. This evening I decided to take it up to the car wash bay to jet off the love bugs from my clear bra rinse it down then come home and do a wipe down. I purposely ran no ac at all windows up. Just the humidity of the air tonight here in Florida is enough to push in from the breeze. The windshield fogged up on the outside idling with no ac or fan on. Great great car but a terrible oversight on GM's part when it came to this flaw that seems to be due to a purposely built in vent right at the apex of the windshield and dash along with a purposely built bleeder feature for the northern car guys to use HVAC memory with defrost on to remote start their cars allowing hot air to escape and defrost their windshields. Consequently it has left us humid climate gen 6 owners looking like clowns in a circus riding in perfectly nice weather with windshield wipers on or constantly using front defrost if we run our ac below outside ambient temperatures.
I am hoping to have my 2nd prototype device ready in the next couple weeks to test. My plan is to test on my car then in tmastics car. We will update these fogging windshield threads as soon as possible. |

I live in South Florida. I turned off re-circulation and the issue went away. Although it has not been very humid lately either.

This is the result of the mode door not closing all the way, or leaking when closed.
It is not tolerable. Two fixes to tell your service dept.: 1. Mode door actuator is out of adjustment - hopefully all it needs is an adjustment. 2. Get at the bugger and put weatherstripping on the door to seal it. I did this on my 3rd gen when I was a Chevy Tech. Whole instrument panel had to come out to access the mode door and make it seal. Had 06 Mazda6 that did same thing. Service dept repaired it thoroughly. |

On the 6th gen Camaro, it is a single assembly with one door that rotates modes. I suggested it was a door issue a while back and GM still refuses. Now that the outdoor temps are dropping closer to AC temp, the door is making a snapping sound when it trying to move.
GM probably won't fix this either. |

Speak to the service manager first. If needed, open a BBB complaint online, and then BBB arbitration if necessary GM would have to prove that they don't need to keep windshields clear. They usually don't even show up, and customer wins. They must fix the condition, under warranty. |

Got my car about a week ago. Used my a/c a few times here as we were in the 80's. There was a small spot of fog the size of a quarter that went away in 10 minutes one time, otherwise no fogging at all any of the times I used it.
