A transmission recall? Can you elaborate/provide info on it?

I had my car in for something unrelated. Right when I was about to pick it up, my service advisor said they just got this in and are taking care of it.

This what my paper work from the dealer list:

#33110: Service update - 8-Speed Transmission Turbine Shaft Failure - (Sept 19, 2016)
Warranty claim code FD8F6

This is not a recall, this is a service update.

Service advisor said recall and paper work states recall and it says service update.

Just going off what I was told. My apologies if I've relayed incorrect information.

How long until you pick up the car again from the time they said they got the tsb and were gonna be working on it?

I'd think any longer than an extra day and it might be a mechanical fix.

Thank you SixgenSix for the details! Will give my service adviser a call tomorrow and ask him about this. Got a couple long drives coming up soon, can't afford to have the transmission crap out on me.

It's only for the V6 and is a software calibration issue.

Service advisor called me at noon time letting me know my car was ready for pick up.

When I arrived service dept, he told me he had just been informed about the transmission update and my car would be ready soon. I waited for around about 30 mins and my car was ready to go from that point.

I drove the car some more today and I think it shifts better than before. Then again I only have about 250 miles on the car.

Took my car into the dealer for the water recall and inspection. Dealer told me they had to order the parts. Still waiting after 3 weeks.
