How to Identify Magnetic Ride Control Car

Quick question, I was looking at cars.com and it seems many dealers are ignorant or don't care to list the big options for the cars they list, Obviously you can identify a Dual mode exhaust from the back but I was wondering, is there a way to identify a Magnetic Ride Control Car from pictures alone? At first I thought it was paired with the "Mode" switch on the center console But either every SS I have seen in person has Mag Ride or the 2 aren't paired.

Thanks for any feedback

No way to tell other than the window sticker or the code sticker wherever it is. The shocks themselves probably have a tell if you can find a sticker on them and compare the two.

The driver mode screens aren't different?

If the Camaro is like any of the other GM MRC cars, there will be a small ride height sensor at each corner. here is what it looks like on the front of a ZL1.

Easiest way if you have access to start the car/put in service mode is goto Settings, Drive Mode, and look for Suspension.

Agreed. You will see suspension options from the display. Another way is to look under the trunk liner, (where you would usually find a spare tire :-)). You will see a sticker with all of the RPO codes for all of the option installed on that particular car. MRC has RPO code F55.

That's a good one. Didn't know the codes where there.

I'm assuming you are searching cars online and cannot look at them in person since you could just check the Monroney. If you have a car you are truly interested in I would call any chevy dealer parts dept and give them the VIN. They can check for MRC.

correct, I'm just window shopping, comparing my options and was looking to see if there is a quick way to identify a MRC car through the pictures the dealers provide. Seems silly to me that they don't list the major options on the cars they are trying to sell, if it's too much work just take a picture of the build sheet.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I appreciate it.

When I was searching, I found that carguru.com was more detailed. Or just got Rodgers Chevrolet website and pick the car you want, I'm sure it's there.

This is almost 2 years later but I'm shopping around for a 2016/2017 2SS and have run into the same exact issue where they don't label Dual Mode Performance Exhaust or Mag Ride and half the time don't know even after I ask them to look into it. Thanks for asking the question and thanks to everyone with the great solutions!

If I find a car on cars.com and I don't know if it has MRC, I will then go to either chevrolet.com or www.gmfamilyfirst.com, put in the zip code the car is in and try to look up the window sticker. Half the time the dealers web site either doesn't have the option to look at the window sticker or the w/s won't come up.
