My dealer said he couldn't build 2016 camaro with manual transmission. Is that true?

I want to order a 2016 camaro, since 2017 camaro is $600 more expensive. I want manual transmission but my dealer says he can build 2016 camaro but only with automatic transmission.

I want to know if he lies because this forces me to order automatic transmission or 2017 camaro which costs more money. Can I check his ordering system when I go to his place?

Thanks.

They stopped making 2016's a couple months ago. 2017 is what you get unless he's ordering a car from another dealer.

The dealer says his ordering system can still build 2016 camaro. I wonder if I can check his ordering system when I go there next week. And will ordering a 2017 camaro take more time? How many weeks can I get the car?

As SpookShow said above, it is not possible for your dealer to order a 2016 anymore, as the factory is only producing 2017s now. He must mean that he can find you one from another dealer.

If he thinks he can order a '16, he's mistaken.

Ordering a car generally takes 6-8 weeks, give or take.

You need to find another dealer. You've got problems before you're very far into it. 2016 may be sitting somewhere available for delivery configured like you want but the factory isn't making them anymore. 2017 is in full production. As far as delivery there's no real solid date. They don't sounding they know what's going on so if they don't have an allocation to order one they submit and wait for GM to pick it up. If you use someone else like Becky the process will go much smoother, maybe 6 weeks? She's supposed to be the best, she'll know how far out she is on delivery.

Supposed to be? Haha. If your dealer thinks they can "order" you 2016, without a doubt they have NO allocation. If your serious about ordering a Gen6, 600 smackers shouldn't make a difference on a 40K dollar car.

Could be $1k if it's a HBM car, what a crock.

Your dealer is correct when stating he can not order a 2016 Camaro with a manual transmission.

Your dealer is incorrect if stating he can order a 2016 Camaro with an automatic transmission. The book for ordering 2016 Camaro cars closed at the end of April.
