I haven't had any ridiculous claims yet but I did have one guy come up to me at a car show Saturday talking to me about it....he was disappointed that the ride quality isn't that of a Lexus or Caddy...and he drives a 5thgen. IMO the ride is a little better but it's still a performance car, if you want a Lexus then buy a Lexus. I don't understand the wacky expectation there.

It's not an expectation, it's jealousy. Next time just say "I have a Lexus, but prefer to drive my Camaro"

I don't think it was that, he had a 5thgen and was hoping the ride wasn't harsh...finally just said it's still an Ameican performance car...you're not gonna get rid of that ride...that's another reason he didn't buy a Corvette or something...just not the right car(s) for him.

My standard answer to the idiots is... You win I pay you $1,000. I win you pay me $500 but are NEVER allowed to talk about your car again. Money brought to the track and she holds it. (Generally point to a hot girl). No one ever takes the bet (or they flake later)

What's scary is the so-called "car guys" that think the current Auto is slower...they are living in the past. Most ppl don't even know an 8-speed is on the current Camaro and the 10-speed is on the horizon. Many of them are not even up to date what is going on.
It's a new era and the Automatic is no longer any type of joke.

what's even more said is that while that is true the same car magazines testing those transmissions will still call the auto 'the slushbox'

Nuff Said'

Word has it the 2016 V6 Camaro can keep up almost side by side with the 5th Generation SS, I wouldn't be surprised! The 2016 SS can beat the M4, Scat Pack, 5.0 Coyote's, and most of all, the Honda Civic.
Exactly!

I've only owned the car since early May. So far a newer challenger R/T took the challenge at a light, I'm a manual and I came off the clutch easy and still gapped him by 8 cars to 90mph. I was behind a 14/15 Camaro V6 (black same color as mine). I honked my horn and gave him a thumbs up, he floored it once the light turned green, again I was easy off the clutch, got in the other lane and walked right past him. One of my neighbor's has a mid 2000's Mustang GT with the 300hp 4.6L, we both merged into the highway (me behind him) and I walked right past him. A very nice BMW sedan (don't know the series) with a 50's yr old guy driving got beside me on the highway at 60mph, he turned his nose up to me and gunned it, I dropped it to 3rd and walked him. That's about it so far.

I haven't had anything like that yet. But I have had a group of high school kids pull up next to me at a stop light (granted, it was at night) and ask "What year Challenger that is?" - word for word lol. I promptly replied "2077". I just got a weird look and they rolled the window up hahaha.

True, but being retired with a local bar/hangout and the same friends for 10 years helps eliminate the rif-raf.....surprisingly many come up and ask about the car but all have nice things to say.....
