I have 2 spots on the front window. Exact same place. Hard to see unless you stick your head up to the window.
No concerns yet but will keep an eye on it.
Looks a like there should have had some sort of trim piece on the end to finish it.

Yes, and if it happens to mine I'll find some trim for it before I bring it in for the dealer hacks to mess with.

anyone else considering a tint strip across the windshield? something small and discreet that would extend the existing strip?

I had a tint strip like this on my 91 GTA. Local cops pulled me over and said it had to be less than 6" tall. I pulled out my tape measure and showed them it was 5.9" on the transparent part of the windshield.

The look on his face was priceless:

Find out about your state tint laws before doing this. Don't trust local tint shops because they only want your money.

I'm not going to apply a tint strip on my Camaro just yet. I think I'll get Chevy to fix the headliner and then give it about six months to make sure it doesn't do this again.

That's interesting...i was thinking about the tint strip when I saw the post above, but was hoping it could be really small. It's so small right now on my car, a dab of super glue would be all I'd need.

Know what you mean, but after a hot Summer and a cold Winter and you might need more than a dab...

Hi, Not in a Camaro yet, but we design & produce headliners. I don't think the carpet is actually peeling back. Looking at the photos, either the headliner hasn't got enough fixation points causing it too sag, or the fritting on the windshield is not large enough.
Most car headliners will show a white carrier material at the edge because it's water jetted / die cut / pinched after forming. Flanging the actual carpet is a very costly process. GM could have add a upward flange to the liner so the carpet goes upward.

Thought I might share
Nick
Typical complex : visible side, black carpet and white carrier

Think you might be dead on with not enough anchor points. After reading this thread earlier in the week, I checked out my headliner and, in my opinion, there are not enough clips holding the headliner up. They're spaced pretty far apart considering what they need to do. And none close enough to the edges to keep the material from eventually giving in to gravity and sagging.

I spend a lot of time taking apart and putting back together the interiors of various vehicles and while I've seen worse designs, I've definitly seen better.

If my liner starts to sag, I'm not gonna bother with the dealer. I'll just remove it, finish the edges myself and probably add some anchor points.

Mine seems like it was trimmed a little short over the passenger door and keep popping out from under the rubber molding. Any tricks on how to keep it from doing this?

I checked my '14 and there's no trim across the top where the headliner meets the windshield. I hope this isn't an issue with my '17 that's on order.

Well I can say this, I have a brand new headliner just sent from gm and same problem. Don't think they have made any revisions yet.

Cap it off with the same trim they put on the doors to protect the edges when you open from door dings. That or something similar could possibly be used to cap the edges of the headliner. Some type of rubber/plastic tubing that opens on one side of the edge. Probably something like it could be found at Home depot.
