Mrt axleback vs flowmaster American thunder axle back

Does anyone have either one of these axle backs for their v6? If so how are you liking them?

I have the flowmasters. I really like them. Quiet at cruising speed and moderately louder than stock while accelerating. Sounds good. Much deeper than stock. I do get slightly worse mpg though... For some reason I have a heavier foot now!

Based on the YouTube videos I've seen, the Flowmaster has a deeper and less raspy sound to it, which IMO sounds better

I have heard that the Flowmasters have a big problem with drone. Is this true, or is it just an urban myth?

Need to drive some more to see. only been on since just before noon and went for a short drive and had to do other things, so did not really get into a real check, just mainly noticed the definite tone change at all rpms up to 6500 and not really getting that raspy sound anymore at higher rpms.

I went for a drive, i would say their is maybe a slight drone at highway speed, not really bad to me. You do hear more tone from the truck area when really getting on it. But then i can hear the gas slosh in the tank also. I intend to put in noise dampening material anyways.
But it still sound about what i was looking for in an exhaust system.
So might just be a personal preference.

Did you install it or have a shop do it? Did you weld it or use the clamps? ordered my yesterday and am trying to decide to either do it myself or take it to have it done.

I did it myself, backed the camaro up on drive on ramps, got under, measured and marked the spots to cut, removed the 2 nuts on each side holding the rear hanger mounts.
Used a saw-saw to cut, Then popped the front mounts out of the rubber holders, then while supporting the muffler, slide the rear hangers off and dropped the muffler out.

Then deburred the stock pipe and slide the clamps over the stock pipes. Hung each muffler, tightened down the rear hanger and made sure each muffler were equal and tightened the clamps(says you can add a 1in weld to each side to secure firmly is needed).

That was it, i'd say only took about 30-45min

Got my Flowmaster American thunder installed Friday, easy install. Not really liking the drone between 1600 and 2100 rpms, J pipe will cure that. but overall i like the sound. Not annoyingly loud and sounds great on hard acceleration. Bad part is i got rear ended Saturday morning and dented up the rear right exhaust tip and rear bumper mauled up. Sometimes i F-ing hate people.
