Anyone who thinks they aren't collecting that data anyway without you "enabling" it are kidding themselves.

I guess since this is the most I have had to pay for insurance, it caught me off guard. Even my 4X4 Jeep Rubicon is considerably less. Once they get my OnStar score of F- I'm really going to be screwed

you do know you have to enroll in it to see all that stuff. People get paranoid over the littlest things these days. All your personal information is online and in your wallet. It appears more people are paranoid about them driving over the speed limit than having their identity stolen.

Funny, but I bet at least one person on here has that little Progressive Insurance chip plugged in their cars.

Guess i'm that "idiot" i have the OnStar insurance discount through state farm on my truck and Malibu. I'll save the $300 on my bill, they wont do anything other than lower your rate. I have nothing to worry about since i'm a respectable driver on the roads, and i dont think the government is out to get me. If someone wants to spy on you and illegally gain information, they would be much better off using your cell phone. How do you think Facebook, Google, Navigation gets all of their features?

The only thing State Farm cared about was how many miles i drove a month.

You live in California. That's why

Come to Ohio - my State Farm quote for a 2SS 6 speed was $796.50/yr. Cheaper than my Accord!!!

If the microphone is disabled when removing the OnStar fuse am I right to assume that's the same microphone used for bluetooth?

Yes you are correct. You can still use the phone mic if you are hands on the phone despite being connected to bluetooth but if you're plugged in for android auto / carplay, the UI those create on the phone make it impossible to activate the phone mic.

I'm with 21st Century who is backed by farmers. I pay $71 a month.

Professional Certification discount
Good driver discount
Low mileage discount

So from State Farm for ~$80 a month or so, you got a good deal!

I hope some of you aren't using anything Google backed (email/cell), Windows 10 (or 8.1, 8 and 7 with certain updates), Facebook at all, etc... If so, you have all the same types of spying issues and those are even more prolific than your OnStar system.

My insurance went down when I bought my SS and sold my WRX. My rates are still much higher than most I see quoted here. The deductibles, limits, umbrella policies and other coverage plays into the rate. Louisiana is also an expensive insurance state.
