Edelbrock E Force Anyone? 560 rwhp and 540ish ft-lbs tq!
Just walked into a deal in picking up one of the first five Edelbrock kits to hit the market. (So says the dealership.) The dealer had ordered the kit for the manager's car, but he has an a8 and kits being released were only for the m6.
The 2SS only had 20 miles on it when the install started. Here's a few pics of the install by the technician. I know everyone (Including me!) wants to hear the "numbers" but I'm not able to get it to the dyno until mid June. It will be interesting how close it comes to the claimed 580 rwhp. As for driving, it......pure joy. Just putzing around, I can't hear the SC, which is fine by me, I'm a stealthy guy and like things to appear to be stock. (However, my hearing is shot, so I'm not a good judge of how it really sounds.) At around 3k, the SC has woken up and starts to pull really, REALLY hard, but seamlessly. I was able to still get 25 mpg on the way home, cruzing at 75 mph. Much more to come as I get information to share. Last edited by Atomic Ed; 06-08-2016 at 09:06 PM. |

Hotrod.com is doing a story on that same blower right now. Dyno from them should be coming soon, seat of the pants story is already up.

I am waiting to get one of these or the Magnusson as soon as someone has one I can buy for an A8 that is 50 state legal. How is your traction with the stock tires?

Ordered my E-Force in March, still waiting to get it. The kits for the A8 seem to be taking a long time.

I just talked with a saleswoman at Edelbrock and she said the kits for the auto have been on backorder but are expected to start shipping next week. Hopefully that is the case.

Very nice, Ed!
Is your car the only gen six with an E-Force on it at this point, with the exception of Edelbrock's test car, of course? Got any more install pics? |

If you purchase one, the installation manual has pages of pics. The manual should be on line soon. In the mean time, here's a few more pics of the install. |

Ordered my kit on Friday. Supposedly they are releasing 6 more kits this week for the A8. I may have the SC before I get my car....hehe.

Edelbrock Results: 560 rwhp and 540ish ft-lbs tq!
Put the Camaro on the dyno this afternoon and I'm very pleased with the results: 560 rwhp and 540ish ft-lbs tq! I'm loving it!
The run was plagued with a busted printer that kept me from getting me a nice copy of the run, but at least I got the information I was looking for. The tq. number is an interpolation by me from the graph, so you can call it what you want; 535-540ish. Ambient temps were a problem also. Air temp was 97 degrees and was causing the IAT's to jump up to 150 before the end of the first run. 560 rwhp at 97 degrees compares favorably to Edelbrocks claim of 580 rwhp, considering they probably dynoed at a more reasonable temp. AFRs were picture perfect! No timing retard, knock or misfires. Nice job Edelbrock! Keep in mind this was a bone stock setup, other than the E-Force PD. I even still had the paper filter in the air box. Given how quick the IATs came up, this setup screams for a CAI. |
