I'm not sure what the last one is and I just want to add that I did not get any spare parts when I purchased the vehicle.
YM8- LPO Processing Option
...just identifies on the order
that LPO's are ordered.- not a physical part

LPO question

Becky - Will the return of LPO items still apply if the dealer I'm buying the vehicle from is getting it from another dealer? If so, what recourse do I have if they don't return the replaced items? In my case they did LPO on knee pads, bow ties, and wheels (5 spoke black with red line). Thanks!

common sense that some dealers don't want to adhere to:

all the LPO parts are shipped to the dealer for them to install. The prices you paid to GM are not "core charges" so therefore the part they take off belongs to you, you paid for the cast off part in the price of the car, therefore it belongs to you also.

Becky please confirm...

your recourse is to see the GenMgr of the dealership.

less parts to be selected when production on the line.

They are considered Limited..in that - not many orders
will have the LPO's selected and still allows, personalization to orders.

Any LPO that requires replacement IE: Brakes, Wheels, Bowties...etc...
.....the original part is returned to customer.

Hope That helps!

Becky - (not my thread, but asking for clarification) Thanks for that info. Does this apply to wheels as well? When I was ordering my car, I asked about the gloss black redline wheels and why they cost $2000 to order and I can buy them from the parts dept for the same price. I also asked if I could keep the original wheels if I added these. I was told that the original ones had to be sent back to GM and I could only keep them if I bought the black wheels after I took delivery of the car.

Sounds like the sales department may have sold some parts to the parts department!

sheesh, more horshit dealer antics...GOOD RULE OF THUMB; IF YOU ARE ORDERING LPO ITEMS, GET THIS STRAIGHT WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER, not the sales manager, not the parts manager or sales guy, the GENERAL MANAGER. Don't order the car until you get the answer, and write it on the SIGNED buyer order you contract with..

That being said, Ive also seen people say that you get whatever part is being replaced by the LPO part back. i.e. the 6 piston brakes, you get the 4 piston back.

If thats the case, it goes back to one of the questions above. How would I know which parts Im supposed to get back?
This reads like you're an autoxer. Where LPO items are not legal in the "Street" classes, like FS. Knowing which are legal and which are not is very frustrating to those of us that want to play legally. I did write the SCCA asking for clarification, since it's obvious there is no "port" these items can be installed at before delivery to the dealer.

Not here in New York(Roberts Chevrolet). They kept all my original parts and when I asked for it the following week, I was told that upon removing them they get destroyed(heat gun, fry out, etc).

Service S**ks, they do not care cause they did not buy it!
