The dealer accepted my offer
I shopped dealers, pitted them against each other. It finally came down to two dealers who where offering me the dealer invoice price (confirmed his GM workorderbench). I told the both that the first to throw in a set of the Camaro Premium all weather mats, I'd be there within a couple days. Its been a few days now and I've only heard back from one of the dealers, I'm headed up there tomorrow to place my order on a '16 1SS M6, black on black, black front and rear bowtie emblems, and 20" 5-spit spoke gray machine face wheels.
Now the roller coaster ride of ordering a vehicle begins. |

Good luck.
I started cross shopping the dealers on January 2nd and finally made a deal just this past Friday. I ended up getting 3K off MSRP. Does no one have the one you want in stock? I had a choice of at least 10 dealerships, just none of them were willing to work with me until finally on Friday.

Dealer invoice is basically dealer true cost I think...to the point where they're probably only going to make about $350-500 on the deal...

Sorry I might be using the wrong term. I paid 96% x invoice for trim and options. That might be called employee pricing, not supplier pricing or vice/versa...now I'm confused lol.

All I know is that a 1SS A8 was about $1,400 off MSRP on the GM Supplier Discount site..at least I think, it was over $1,000 off MSRP

This is correct, the supplier price was around another $900 on top of what we agreed to. The employee price is about $1000 less than what we agreed too. I agreed to invoice price with them also throwing in the mats for free, but this price does not include any available incentives or rebates that may be available when the car gets delivered. |

Dealer invoice is 96% of msrp for trim, 93% of msrp for options. Dealer price is 93% of msrp for trim, 88% of msrp for options. Employee price is 96% of dealer invoice, across the board. Dealer's also make bonuses for hitting sales targets, which lower their cost basis even more. It all comes down to allocation though. Dealer's with no allocation available will go lower, but you'll sit there waiting forever for the car. If a dealer has allocation available, that's leverage in their favor. If I'm wrong about the %'s or they've changed, my apologies.

I've spoken with around 12 dealerships. I've searched their inventory and also done a search on Chevrolet.com for the exact car I wanted. The closest one was over 800 miles away. I'm not willing to go that far away. Especially once you get there the dealer know you traveled that far and you aren't going home empty handed. That's already stacking the deck in their favor. One of the biggest issues I was running into is almost all have the NPP exhaust option. I don't want it. The week I buy it, I'll have the resonators cut off, 2.75" X-pipe with single chamber mufflers put on. It will flow better, sound the way I want, and weigh around 30lbs less than the NPP exhaust, and for around $450.00. If the conquest is available when the car is delievered then I will get it $3000 under MSRP. I'm not banking on an incentive or rebate being available in 2-3 months though. |

Based on the GM WorkOrderBench, dealer invoice on the model I optioned is almost exactly 96%. With the extra $300 in options I'm getting, I'm getting the car for 95.2% of MSRP. (Not including any available incentives/rebates). Employee pricing is almost exactly 97% of dealer invoice. |

Gotcha! Yeah, it took me a long time to find the exact car I wanted as well. My problem was that I wanted a loaded 2SS in either blue or white with NO SUNROOF! More difficult to find than I thought it would be. I'm too tall for the sunroof. Good luck!
