BMW guys are bad too...M guys vs Non-M guys.

Even M5 vs M3/M4 and now M3/4 vs M2...1M vs 135i M-sport...etc..

The more expensive the car...the more vicious the fighting.

I own one 5th gen and one 6th gen. Obviously I'm a little more established on the gen 5 site, I've been there for a couple of years. I must admit I have been a little surprised at some of the comments on that board about the 6th gen. I just think anytime something changes you cannot please everyone and people tend to talk more about what they don't like than what they do. I think most of the gen 5 owners have at best spent 15 or 20 minutes on a test drive and really did not get a feel for the car.

I'm very happy with all of the changes GM made. To me the new car is improved in dynamics, efficiency, performance and creature comforts. I'm not a really big guy and don't have kids. If either of those were the case I think I would be disappointed in the new car. But like I said you cannot please everyone.

In time it will all blow over, you can't stop progress. Until then I just keep pointing out what I have experienced since I got my 6th gen. It is a very nice car. Heck, the thing got motortrend car of the year..... It is one of the best rides you can buy today period.

I've been following the forums because I'm looking to move up to a Camaro / Mustang / Challenger and I have found it 'interesting' on the aggressive nature and responses by a lot of the owners.

Now this is just MO, by I think the Mustang owners tend to by the most fanatical and rabid, they go as far as attacking guys that have had the misfortune of getting lemons from Ford as if it's the owners fault, and not Ford or the dealership. It's often real Hatfield's and McCoy's stuff and frequently entertaining, but I really feel sorry for the owners who are getting shafted by Ford and/or the dealership and still getting bashed by other owners. And, don't get them started on the V8/V6/Ecoboost or manual vs. auto debates, it gets bloody.

Compared to the Mustang group I've found the Camaro forums to be much more supportive, but still combative on occasion.

I've found the Challenger guys to be the most laid back and supportive and the least bothered / interested about battling with the Mustang / Camaro owners. Not to be disrespectful, but they remind me of the guys who have wives that aren't fashion models, and maybe a bit heavy, but can really cook and treat them well. Although I probably wouldn't buy a Challenger (although I do like them), I find their attitude refreshing and it drives the Mustang guys crazy, lol!

Wow, if true, I guess I'm just shocked by the vitriole directed towards you 6th gen guys. I mean, I personally like my 5th gen design better than the 6th gen (I keep waiting to 'like' certain aspects about the new generation-hasn't happened yet), but geez, I don't hate on anyone who has one-our Camaro club has a couple of 6th gen guys in it and they're just as welcome as anyone else-and their cars are quite cool....

I *hope* that this hatred is not as widespread as it seems....

That's what I say! Just be nice and have respect for all muscle cars for the matter. We all have a little something in common to own one.

Hi everyone, please excuse any grammar or spelling errors that might occur on my 2nd ever post to any site. (First here). This thread pains me in a way that is hard to explain but I will try. It's a Camaro! We should all be happy that we can talk about them. We can argue with some merit which are better or not but just be happy you have the opportunity to drive a new camaro.

For background I have at least driven every generation of camaro (except this one). I own a Second generation that my friends and I have built from the ground up starting 10 years ago. I have owned a 1986 z28 (3rd generation) that was recently reclaimed by the god of cars.

Since I was a kid, I had always wanted a camaro. When I finally graduated from College in 2002. Two things happened that hurt my soul. The Camaro was no more and the economy tanked. It took several months to find a job and I couldn't find a 2002 Camaro SS. To fill the Camaro-less void I purchased the two previously mentioned cars.

Now back to my orginal statement. Be thankful we have new Camaros and Camaros of any generation. They are here now and not guaranteed tomorrow. If you see a cool one in passing, wave, give a thumbs up. If you see one while fIlling your tank, ask about the car. We are all members of a great fraternity with none being better than the other just different.

I have yet to purchase my new Camaro but I think things are going to change in 2017.

Thank you for taking the time to read my little rant.

It's unfortunate that people take time out of their day to start "online fights." A forum is a place for information, community and a shared interest. Personally, I though the sixth gen was ugly but after driving it and owning one for a month now, it has completely grown on me. My 5th gen feels like a Honda now haha. With that aside, I think that if the "more calm" and "mature" members of these forums just ignore and push the troublesome few aside, then this place will simmer down. I think the Forums really changed when the 2014 refresh took place, every since then it has been a slow downward spiral. Stay sane everyone.

For the forum, we have moderators and we can actually push the others aside no problem but can't fix that in out on the road since we do not have a ban hammer there... Well, I do but I am a law abiding citizen.

I like the 6th gen because it doesn't make my 5th gen look old.

Elektrik, I agree with you and I actually liked my 15 2ss rs looks better then the my 6th gen. Maybe I'll change my mind once I get this one lowered like my 15. Its slicker looking and loved the width of the car better. But, hp to weight is just killer and this car just rocks when you put the hammer down and the A8 starts banging the gears. I just impressive

Didnt realise the hate until I went through that post. I dont think 6th gen owners should get offended if someone says its downright ugly... well its an opinion.. its just like an a$$hole.. everyone has one.. we bought it because we love the way it looks and we think its superior than the last gen.. hell, its supposed to be a little more superior otherwise there is no point introducing a new gen car... Anyways when people tell me it looks no different that last gen... I just ask them what they think abt porsches.. if they say it looks amazing... I give a rats ass for this guys opinion... that car hasnt changed in 100 years .. yet people go crazy everytime a new one is released..

i did meet a 2015 1LE recently and I commented on his ride, saying that he has got a nice one. To continue the conversation I asked him if he saw the new 1LE and he is like.. its a great car but he doesnt like the looks of the new camaro.. I broke the sad news for him that I own one.. the look on his face was priceless.. hahah.. I wasnt offended at all.. i dont like the rear on 2014-2015 camaros, so its fine if someone doesnt like my cars look..

100%!!! Fireworks exploding with drums & trumpets playing some bright patriotic Sousa march.

This car is everything I wanted. Seriously how many refined RWD sports coupes are available below $50,000? To me the new camaro is a blend of what's great about nice euro coupes with the flair of classic American sports cars.

I could care less what others think of the car. I'm loving every minute behind the wheel.

I just don't get it. I love all makes / types of cars, even the Mustang. It has been a back and forth battle (Camaro and Mustang) for almost 50 years. Ford vs. Chevy for over 100 years.

I hope the battle continues for another 50, 100 years. Competition is good for all car brands. The improvements that Ford is making to the GT350 for 2017 is a direct response to the 6th gen. Camaro SS.

Exactly...I'm a car guy. Before I bought my 2010 I drove the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro. All had pros and cons. I chose the Camaro because I liked it the best...and of course I was the fastest. I like all three.
