"Pricing a 16 2SS with all the performance goodies offered (Brembo upgrade, Mag, NPP) puts a Camaro at $49k....then add what, $4000-$4500 for 1LE. $54k for a 1LE that for all intents, comparable price wise to a GT350, but not close in tech and performance.
$56 for how I want my 350 built...or a 17 1LE with 70 less hp for the same price? GM better step up the tuning/weight/performance of the LT4 if they want my bones."

Remember folks we are not talking about a ZL1 or a Z/28 here, these cars are going to drop in value very quickly just like the 5th Gen SS did. The uniqueness of the GT350 will hold its value much better just like the Boss is presently. If you have 54-56k to spend your investment is much better in a GT350 TP.

IMO the only way to order up the new 6th Gen would be in 1SS form, using employee or supplier discounts, or wait for general discounting.
Why is it that people can't understand that the 1LE is a performance package? Why on earth would you add the brembo brake package and then add a performance package on top of that? There are a lot of people grasping at straws to make a 1LE seem pointless. Lets not forget the surprise and shock that was brought forth when the 16 SS performance numbers and weights were released (and then were confirmed). GM is full of tricks and excellent engineers. I guarantee you that we won't be disappointed.

Simple buy a SS in the high 30s like I did. I don't understand why u need to get it loaded if price is an issue

My 5.0 held its value pretty well, I'll be disappointed if I don't get the same with this car.bsure I could've spent another ten for a boss but hey I had an extra 10k in my pocket over the last few years too

Why not compare a 1SS to base GT350? Or better yet to a 1SS to a GT350TP? At $55k MSRP, suddenly that $37k 1SS with that performance is the real deal, but people always like to compare a 2SS to GT350 with none of the bells and whistles that a 2SS adds, then they inflate the price on the 2SS more by adding wheels, dress up, sunroof, etc... to make the GT350 look like the bargain it is not.

amen bro

This^^^ and typically while pointing to the base, non track ready, GT350 MSRP.

I have no idea how the 1LE will stack up to the GT350TP but there is a lot of precedence of Camaros outperforming lighter, more powerful Mustangs on the track.
I think some 350 buyers are trying to justify the cost. I rolled a 1ss for $35,300 out the door. I looked into a base GT350 and there was a whole lot of pain involved and I was looking at $55K to $58 out the door minimum. Ford just not friendly and treated me as a second class citizen that should be awe to approach the mighty dealership, and only a pleb would want a base and even then dealer gouge was unbelievable.

Sorry I'm not going to be rapped just cause I want a car. I'm sure all GT350 owners will be insistent that they unlike pleb me, rolled a 350 for $2000 off MSRP..

I think the realistic actual out the door price for either car, I'm not far off from the norm: $33.5 for base SS vs $55+ for GT350, that is real money.

Maybe, the last 1le I owned and drove was 98 LS1. I will say this, the A8 is a phenomenal trans / car. It is better in every way vs my M6. I chose the M6 only because I'm in my second childhood and wanted something like my 69 z/28. For my age and driving ability the A8 would be better, street, drag or race track. For my pleasure M6. I think I'm in the norm, the A8 is better and faster and I think it will be available with 1lE. Still would have to pry the M6 out of cold dead slow hand..

A GT350 similarly equipped to the car you described will not be $50k. It will be over $60k. If you are worried about MSRP, don't click every single option.

The 1LE looks to come with a brake upgrade as well, so you won't be able to add the 6 piston kit. I don't see MRC being available either. That will take it below $50k right there.

I hope you can still get MRC as an option, both GT350 packages have it :/

And the options to get MRC are both twice as expensive as the 1LE option.

I don't know about you but I don't want to pay $7k for the 1LE just so people can have MRC as an option.

But we both know that's not how GM is doing options for the SS. You pay your $3500-$4500 for 1LE, Ill pay my $5000-$6000 for 1LE+MRC, everybody wins.

I was at the Rolex 24 at Daytona this weekend and after seeing the Performance Concept in person. I am only more anxious to get my hands on a 1LE!!! Start the count down!

Nearly half of the last 1LE option would be replaced by MRC. If they do offer a MRC upgrade with the 1LE, a good chunk of its cost will be offset by what it replaces.

My guess is that the 1LE will have MRC standard.

Didn't the 1LE also come with the (now $3500 LPO) 6 Pot brakes?

No, the 1LE used the standard SS brake. They were just painted red.
