Why sway bars? Well... C7 base vs z51 (SS vs "1LE"). I'd take the z51 bars and bushings, IF indeed the "1LE" is upgraded.

Other than the swaybars and wheels... Brake upgrade on "1le"? Already upgrading to 6 piston, so that's covered. Got MRC so no need to touch em either, maybe the springs and that is a huge maybe.
True performance tires, not run flat performance would be one I would expect. Perhaps a wider square setup too.

Here's my $.02....

A 6thGen 1LE in the very near future is a very smart move by Chevy. They will be ahead of the aftermarket for performance options....and at a bargain price.

The 5thGen had to wait many years before a 1LE surfaced, and many of us winged it on modding for the track. With a 6thGen 1LE already in the wings, it will save many a ton of time, money, trial and error and guesswork. And the aftermarket will have to up their game sooner and that will also benefit the consumer....

The 1L-E is a win-win for everyone....I can't believe the misunderstandings and negativity the 1L-E is getting.

It's not a threat to anyone's SS, it's not a high priced rip-off...Quite the contrary...It will be a factory engineered and warrantied track option that is plenty street worthy as well. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the 6thGen 1L-E.

I for one thought they might skip it this Gen....That they are going the 1L-E route again this soon is a nice surprise.

For me with a Gen 5 all I would have wanted was a 1LE. But I did not like the bulk and the interior of the 5th Gen. My understanding is the 1LE was a reaction to try and make the shortcomings of the Beta platform better, and they did. But this is not the case with the Gen 6, I'm paying 47 for a fully loaded 2SS with MagRide with a manual. When GM does release the 1LE it's going to be in the upper 50's it will have to be. I'm happy with a 2SS. I would like to jump up into a 6 gen ZL1. That's going to be a monster.

You do remember the 1LE came on a 1SS as well right? Just because you added all options on a new 2SS doesn't mean GM will start with that then add a 1LE package on top of it.

I don't think it's any secret that Chevy has stated the stock 6thGenSS "outperforms"/out tracks the 5thGen 1L-E...

Any upgrades to the 6th Gen SS would just be gravy. For an SS I would look at the 1L-E as one of many templates for track upgrades....Even if you copied the 1L-E's tire and wheel package and/or track alignment specs....It's all a good thing, even if you don't have everything else that may come on a new 1L-E....Even as with the 5thGen, it's an SS first and foremost with a built in package of upgrades. Some or all could possibly be added to any option combo currently on an SS.....All good and optional, not mandatory...lol..

I'd just wait and see what comes on a 1L-e...It may not be all that different from what's already on an SS....

Have you ever run your 1LE in competition mode? Maybe it's not working properly because the difference between my 2010 SS and 1LE was huge.

Disagree considering the auto is only a tenth ahead in 0-60 tests at best. 3.9/4.0 or so. Give the 1LE wider, stickier tires, and slightly more aggressive gears and it will at least equal, if not beat that...

There is no logical reason to believe the base GT350 is faster on the track than a 1SS.
Except that I just tracked both models at laguna within a couple weeks of each other................The GT350 was as fast as my z28 laps.....and I have 1000's of laps in the camaro models and 7 in a new mustang. So think about that. I was able to replicate my best ever z28 times in 7 laps in the gt350. The 2ss I tested a week or so ago was almost as fast as my 1LE, but I could feel and smell issues coming on, so I had to dial it back. As I stated earlier this was an A8 equipped car and the tranny is fantastic....other than the hot smell emanating from it after 3 laps.

You tracked a base GT350. Not a TP or tech package car?

It was a TP car......Only thing I did not like about the car was the shifter....Just did not care for it.

Why do you think it was so much faster. What contributed/was better about it? Curious to hear your perspective.

lol why do I think? I don't think......I transponder! Well, over the SS it has a better track based powerband, better tires, better brakes, much stiffer MRC, better visibility, I could trail brake it no problem, it did not get hot, seats are better, easier to drive fast. This is a pretty big laundry list for a potential new 1LE to cover.
