my 2010 2SS was stickered at $45k, so the new 2SS is not priced high with the the new advancements.

And plus getting $3800 off MSRP and getting a private offer rebate of $1000, it was a good deal on the 2016

First of all a loaded 2SS was not 33 in 2011. Second of all the 16 comes with a lot of features. A used ZL1 is one hell of a car and I would strongly consider it.

It'd likely be used - good luck finding one left over. If you have any thoughts of trying to find one left over, look on Autotrader and don't expect to find one locally.

You're getting the C7 engine and technology in the 2SS. You might try pricing the 2016 C7, then reassess.

Not unless you lucked out and got one of the few 20% off ZL1s in Nov of 2014 or 2015. Otherwise ZL1 avg'd $54K->60K.

More / better options - yes. Faster, not, but close.

If it felt slow I call bogus on your driving one.

If you look at pricing of the C7 from 2014, to 2015, to 2016 - prices have done nothing but go up. No telling if the Camaro 2SS will have same trend, but it very well could.

Nope, there aren't any other price based threads since pricing was announced a few months back...nope, not one.
You'd pay $15,000?

LMAO

I wouldn't go over $14,995

Chris, think of it this way. The 2015 ss vs 2016 ss = Plasma vs OLED, performance wise, AND price wise

You have to factor in inflation when comparing costs of things from 6 years ago

$34,000 in 2009 is the same as $37,600 now.

The 2SS now has the RS package standard, so you have to factor that in. $34,000 now becomes $35,200. In 2015 dollars that comes out to $38,900.

A 2SS now is $42,295. Subtract $38,900 from that and you get $3,395 for a generation to generation gap. That's actually fairly normal and reasonable.

$42,295 is still a lot of money, yes..but it's not out of line when you factor in inflation from the previous generations. The reason why it seems like a much more painful expense is due to the near complete lack of wage growth and in most cases the backsliding of wages in those 6 years...but that's a political topic and not a car topic.

Well I threw in the extra 5 bucks cuz they dropped the weight by 200lbs, well worth it.

My loaded '10 2SS/RS was $39,900 (Automatic, sunroof, polished wheels and Inferno Orange interior). To build out a '16 2SS as identically as possible is $45,100. Just over $5k difference for a 6 model year newer car on a much superior platform doesn't seem that out of line.

My 2010 2SS with RS, polished wheels, orange interior and stripes was somewhere around $37k msrp. The new one has more features and is roughly $6k more.

Why would they do that? Gen6's are already selling like hot cakes lol.
Partyka Chevrolet here in CT is already giving $1500 discounts from MSRP on a 2SS

Yes, I drove the same 2013 ZL1 twice at a local Car Max. It had under 2000 miles on it if I remember correctly and I got it up to 6k in first or second, can't remember which gear. I don't know why people would question someone saying they drove a ZL1. It's not like it's a Lambo or an exotic. I liked it a lot better the second time I drove it after I drove a 2009 GT500. The GT500 had a horrible ride and 2nd gear shift was awful. I drove a 2011 GT500 once and it seemed a lot better than the 09. Anyways, my 03 Cobra has more power than a ZL1 and I think it's a slow turd. The "Butt Dyno" is a subjective measurement and will differ from person to person.
