What are these silver emblems called?

Going through the attic and found a frame full of almost 60 different manufacturer emblems, all in real pure silver (so I was told). My dad gave it to me when I was about 10 (20 years ago) and said he got them over time back in the 60s or 70s possibly? I am trying to find more information on them. I believe he said you could buy them individually back then, but he had a buddy frame them all together. Pretty cool collection, but I was trying to find more info. I've Google everything I can think of and find endless amounts of chrome or silver colored eBay emblems. I know this is random, just hoping to find some older car guys who can help out.

Do not let anything happen to those Manufactures car Emblems. I collect a few different things. You should check with a car museum to see if they are valuable & worth any money. Just don't sell them to any one until you have researched them.

Wow thank you very much for your help. I could not find any information anywhere on them. Wasn't necessarily looking to sell, but was trying to find more info on them.
