That being said, the "shitty OHV engine" argument makes no sense. It makes more power, more torque, weighs less and gets the same fuel economy, yet costs less than half the cost to modify and is warrantied 67% longer from the factory. The "shitty OHV" engine decimates the Coyote on every single front. Why on Earth would anyone want a DOHC engine that underperforms in every aspect and costs an arm and a leg by comparison? It's just laughable.

Anyone who drag races with a stick is in 3rd by the 1/8 mile. Unless you have a 4th gen with a 6speed and 2.73 gears.

I want to see how easily the 6th gen can hit 10's. Hopefully they can do it without opening the engine.

The hardest thing to swallow with the new Camaro is the price increase. The Camaro has always carried a small premium over the Mustang, but the premium is growing. What's amazing is how affordable the current GT350 and GT350R is compared to the Gen 5 Z28. The Camaro's price tag is growing at ab even faster rate than its performance advantage over the Mustang. I'm afraid to see what the ZL1 and Z28 will cost in the 6th Gen.

Let's not forget this Camaro finally gets GOOD MANIFOLDS from the factory. There may be less left on the table this time for bolt-ons.

Does that mean there is additional time & speed to be had with different gearing? Is it possible that a gearing change might bring the manual in line with the auto? I don't know anything about drag racing.

If they are morphed into one, whatever it is called, I can see a wide asking range b/c their would be different trims available....whether for touring or track. In this case I would guess a range of starting low 60s for base model to upper 60s or low 70s for the track star.

So...
Max loaded GT vs base 1SS..not an apples to apples comparison..but these results are okay to crow about? If it had gone the other way with a base GTPP putting a hurt on a max loaded 2SS this forum would be losing its mind. |
