Mustang has a more elegant look to it while the Camaro has a "eat your children look"
Mustangs tail is nicer

The front of the mustang looks like a catfish while the Camaro looks like a shark.

I agree about the front looking like a fish but roof profile is stunning

That side stripe/hash....whatever it is called is friggin sweet. Love the little subtle Camaro emblems on it. I can see them as a real possibility in my future.
Both cars looking decent from the front...wish the Camaro was lit up like the Mustang as I think that gives an edge to the Mustang. Camaro more aggressive for sure, and I like that. As for the rear...neither are knockouts in my book. Camaro needs a dovetail...again...in my future lol.

Ford did a nice job with this mustang. If the performance was similar, it would be tough decision.

the GT looks horrible from the front because of the bulging hood and the huge grill opening, but the gt350 fixed both of those issues.
the camaro looks sweet from the front, but those taillights are horrid. |

The Camaro has a nicer front, but the Mustang has a much better rear end for sure. I unfortunately think the Mustang beats out the Camaro overall in terms of looks, at least in stock form. If we were comparing the last generation, the Camaro would win in terms of looks, but mainly because the Mustang was a mid cycle design refresh sitting atop a very old body style from the early 2000's. Ford did a great job with the new car, honestly, although I rarely get to see these on the road. Even with new models on the lots, sales definitely aren't what they used to be 5+ years ago during the first wave of retro-inspired pony car launches.

I'm sure I will be waiting for the refresh of the rear...just cant imagine how that rear could have passed all the reviews...maybe a "Aztec Moment" ha ha

Both are beautiful cars!! I definitely think that an intelligent decision can be made once you test drive both cars

Sales numbers would disagree. 2015 will prove to be the best sales year for the Mustang since 2006, a time when there was no Camaro and no Challenger. |

From the two angles (3/4 front and 3/4 rear) shown above in unrulie's post, its hands down Camaro over Mustang for me. I also prefer the front of the Camaro. Straight on rear is a toss up....probably Mustang gets the win on that one.

Yeah, Camaro wins any angle from where the front and side are visible. In those pics I'd tip the hat to the Mustang for the rear, but in person I don't really like the Mustang rear. So I still feel I need to see the Camero in person, but it would look a lot better with a dovetail spoiler.

These photos don't reveal it but the Mustang has far too much front overhang, the G6 is outstanding on that front.
The head-on comparison really shows how gunslit-like the windshield on the G6 is - I'd estimate the glass area for the Mustang's to be at least 30% bigger. A lot of folks are going to have trouble living with that, the Stang is no greenhouse itself. |

With the exception of the rear spoiler, I think the Camaro looks uniformly better than the Mustang. And, I'll forward my opinion as unbiased since I've never owned versions of either car!
Both the exterior and interior design of the Mustang just looks "tired" to me. Once the excitement dies down, maybe in 2-3 years, I have the sense that people will just tire of the yet again "retro" look of the Mustang. The Camaro is edgy, forward-looking (inside and outside); a proper re-imagining of what an American car with a storied muscle car tradition should stand for in the modern era. Ultimately, I think this is the sort of thinking that will bring new and younger buyers to the line.
