Back-up cam

Does GM us the type of back up cam that has the lines on the display that move with the steering wheel? I like that a lot and hope thats what they are using.

Most new GM cars and trucks use those. I'm sure the camaro will have them as well.

My 2015 Malibu has it, so no doubt the new Camaro's will have it.

All 2016 Camaros will have the back-up cam. The convenience and lighting pckg for the 2LT adds all the extra goodies from the 2SS like the blind spot detectors, HUD, illuminated door sills, the interior led lights, HUD, lande change detection, etc...

Chevy didn't make the rear visibility any better in the 2016 because it would have messed with the roofline so they put the back-up cam in as standard equipment. They did drop the dash about an inch or two to improve forward visibility. That is why the controls for the AC are in the rings surrounding the vents

The NHTSA mandated the back-up cameras come standard by 2018.

"The rule -- which would be final in 60 days -- would start phasing in on May 1, 2016 models and be at 100% May 1, 2018."

do you know if you can you turn the lines off? i like how mine is currently on my 14 2lt and ive driven cars with the back up camera lines and found them distracting and unnecessary. not to sound whiney or anything. im sure ill adjust quickly if i do end up buying a gen 6 camaro

I agree the rear cam is going to be standard, but I doubt the guide lines that move as you turn the steering comes standard with it... because if it does..I dont what the Rear-Cam Assist is supposed to do... Maybe I am wrong..but thats the impression I got...

I have limited knowledge with a back up camera. A friend has a Honda Pilot and it shows in the rear view mirror and only when you are in reverse.
