We don't know the weight of the 6th gen yet. They claimed we would be pleased with these prices, let's not get ahead of ourselves about the weight.

So do you believe that GM has been lying for the last few months when they've been saying nearly 300 lbs less for the LT & 200 for the SS?

I wouldn't go so far to say they are lying but they did say to look at the Mustang as far as pricing went and it's not even close.

Where did he bad mouth it? 5th gen is less powerful, not nearly as well equipped, and its a no brainer that it is heavier. Just facts.

I've expressed concern about the weight claims and after this sticker shock I'm back to not believing them. To say to reference its compitetion as a price point then blast it by that big of a margin is complete bs. A bare bones 1ss shouldn't be that high.

Good luck being @ 3750lbs with all those options .... I seriously think the 200lb loss is going to be questionable ... in the V-8 form .... but we will see .....

This weight talk is over rated in IMO! Most people aren't tracking there cars, looking for whatever can be reduced. Ok the car is smaller, it should loose weight. My car feels solid and handles like no tomorrow, even when I added this additional weight!
