What I can't help but wonder is;

Will Mustang's 2.3 see a power bump to the Focus RS's 345/324 tune, which can also gain about +7% output with "overboost"?

If so, will they wait for an MCE or will it come sooner?

Interesting times we live in.

The coyote would need a bump also to keep the gap. Which would be good across the board.

My guess is any power increases will come when they introduce the 10 speed auto, that way they can do all the tests at the same time

Seems logical to me. Let the RS have it exclusively for a year. By that time the new 10 speeds will be out.

Was there any changes internally for the RS motor or just more boost added?

I thought the A10 was slated for trucks only. Did I miss something?

The Raptor will be the first Ford with it but just like the 8 speeds in GM it will filter to other platforms. We should see the A10s showing up in GM platforms at the same time since it is a collaboration between the two.

Over at Mustang 6 apparently there are two people who works at fords transmission plant that are saying that the current 6-speed automatic is going to be phased out within the next 18 months and the 10 speed is going to live behind all RWD platforms except for the PowerStrokes.

Officially so far the only vehicle that is confirmed to get the new transmission is the 2017 Raptor

The launch and shift speed is exact why the auto is better... Where have you been?

Do a little research. I'm guessing your really young.

Professionals that can shift and drive better than you ever could get better times with the auto. The 8l90 shift time is measured in milliseconds.

That would indeed be a big step up from where they are now, and it would keep costs down.

I haven't seen any numbers for the 6th Gen Camaro, but for the Stingray and Z06 the A8 equipped cars are quicker 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. GM claims it is faster around the track, but I think we will find with time that it depends on the track and if use manual or drive mode on yh A8.

I will say this...Ryan at GPI can tune a tranny and we never got my 6L50 shifting as quick as this 8L90 does from the factory. Once every thing is up to operating temps it is hard to tell it even shifted at WOT because it is a constant pull, and this is a very tight converter so they aren't playing any games there.

Uhhh what? Go spend some time on forums with challenger owners or stingray owners, not even the best manual drivers have been able to match the launch and shift speeds of the a8. Educate yourself.

If you can shift in 280 milliseconds then I will stand corrected. Otherwise the whole "a good manual driver can out shift an auto" is a feel good lie manual owners tell themselves to keep their increasingly fragile ego intact.

Why the hell does every one compare the camaro with the vette???? Just think for a second,do you think the gear ratios are gonna be the same??!?!!? Just because its the same transmission doesn't mean they developed the gearbox exactly like the stingray.besides the z06 is a performance tuned sports car and we shouldn't compare it with a camaro.not until they make a zl1 or a z28 6gen
