People who drag race want low and mid range torque, but Camaro owners have evolved beyond that knuckle-dragging venue to the playground of real cars, the road course, right? If that's the case, who are these "most" you speak of?

Im no engineer but it would be easy for GM to push the powerband higher for more hp and lose some/no tq with a slightly more agressive cam, LS6 style. That would make a nice Z28 engine!

Maybe he came from a boss mustang before the c7. Those thongs turn 7500-8000rpm with just tunes so that would seem a bit off when going to a car that only turns 6200rpm.

That would still be drag racing, correct? See, I agree with you. Despite claims by some that drag racing is passé and road racing is king, reality is that most people buying Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers hardly ever see a track of any kind.
