Predict the 455 hp 2016 Camaro SS 1/4 mile times

Being that this car has been completely redesigned, is dropping 200 pounds, and is going to be propelled by a 455 HP LT1...I am thinking 12.5-12.6 bone stock all for around $40k. And from what I have heard...the factory exhaust note could put some aftermarket ones to shame. If that doesn't get your blood pumping...you better check your pulse! #heatseekingmissle

No matter what it is...the 2016 Camaro SS could easily put 5-6 car lengths in the 1/4 mile on the new GT.

With the 8 speed auto I expect 4.0 0-60 and 12.4s 1/4 mile, hope I'm right too.

High 12's. 12.8 is my guess. There will be a few folks who'll get lower times with a stock car, but they will be the exception, not the rule. Doubtful the SS sees a 200lb reduction in weight from a Gen5 SS.

Expect it...the ATS Coupe weighs about 3460 lbs... and that's the same chassis/setup the Camaro will use. I expect the SS to weigh around 3650-3700lbs.

That's a good 200lbs reduction honestly, depending on what year model. The slight weight reduction, the slight HP increase....we wont see low 12's....but 12.6-12.7 would be a very good spot I do believe, especially with the 8 spd Automatic..

You will typically see a 12.9-13.2 in a 5th gen. I expect the 6th gen to be 12.5-12.7 on average.

Exceptions, not the norm. Exactly what I stated.

Why do people constantly equate the ATS with this new Camaro? While they share the Alpha platform, the Camaro is not an ATS with just a different skin on it. What the Alpha weighs in ATS configuration versus what is might weigh in Camaro configuration is unlikely to be apples-to-apples.

Well we have to take GM at their word on this one until their word becomes invalidated.

As of right now they're saying 200lbs lighter...and I believe them.
