Wheel Gutter Rash/Scratch Help
Hello everyone,
Its time for me to put on my summer wheels. I have some gutter rashes on them. I was hoping if any of you can help me in fixing them. My first question is are my wheels polished or not? Would this DIY work on my wheels? http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=371165 If not please let me know if there is any other tutorial that i can use. Another question, is this the color of my wheels? http://www.paintscratch.com/touch_up...29-WA263M.html Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I'm just spit balling here but check the trunk and see if there is a color code for the wheels. It will at least have some clear on them.
You could also take them to a wheel shop to be repaired. Hope that helps. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

The paint on the rims is called midnight silver, so yes that looks like it. Yours do not look polished. When I bought my car the rims had the same rash on them, maybe worse. I had a deal with the dealer to fix it but they totally screwed up my rims. Anyone with real paint experience can fix that easy, be careful if you choose to do this with a dealer. That DIY would be similar to what you need to do, but it probably wouldn't coast much to get someone else to do it, and save you the hassle.

You can fix that yourself without breaking a sweat , I fixed the wheels twice from curb ( kisses ) way deeper than that.
Just take your time prepping it just right , then spray the paint in very lights passes , do not try to do it quick with a couple passes , you WIL regret One other thing , do not mask the wheel surface at all , leave it exposed to the overspray , so there will be no line in between the patch and the existing paint , cover all the rest of the area around the wheel , tire included off course |
