I have the current 3.6L but no serious performance options for us, just Forced induction, we have no cams, no heads and headers, no real intakes besides the Cold air kits .... bummer

I am really hoping that GM is able to come up with some kind of performance upgrade for the V6 car!!

Best regards,

Elie

He has a 2010 which has the LLT not the LFX, the LFX came along in 2012.

That explains it. The other guy has a 2012 with the LFX.

Not sure about the axle swap, but it seems reasonable though to upgrade brakes and chassis. But JMO.
They are and they aren't. There is no V6 performance package, but you can get the parts. They offer the 1LE suspension bits (including the strut tower brace), plus the SS brakes through Chevrolet Performance (or if you really feel like it, you can get the Z/28 suspension bits and ZL1 brakes). You'll have to install them yourself, or pay someone to do it for you. And you'll have a bunch of spares left over (and I doubt that V6 Camaro suspension parts are going to be too easy to sell). But GM will sell you most of the parts to make yourself a V6 1LE, if you so choose. Only things that seem to be missing are the wheels/tires and a shorter gearing option.

Its not cheap at over 7 grand in parts to make yourself a V6 1LE (and you don't even get the black wheels with high performance rubber) but you can do it.

Not arguing, but where did you get the $7k number from? Seems awfully high. Unless you are including SS Brakes. Even then it seems high.

1500 for the 1LE kit, 5600 for SS brakes, and just shy of 200 for the strut tower brace. http://www.chevrolet.com/performance...s/1le-zl1.html

It would be much better to get all that as a factory option.

$5600 seems high for the brakes but I haven't priced them. Pretty sure you can get ZL1 brakes for that price.

I think a base camaro, on this platform, is going to outperform the competition so well it won't need a costly package.

But there's no telling.. Pointless in guessing when we have no info to base ourselves upon. There's endless possibilities. They may introduce some packages/options we've never even heard of. Just gotta wait and see.

I'm quoting MSRP from the Chevrolet Performance website. I was surprised too, but thats what GM wants for them. But as expensive as the SS brakes are, its no where near as bad as the ZL1 brakes. They're $4,150 front + $7,200 rear. Those rears seem like a big ripoff, seeing as they explicitly state that the rotors are the same as the SS & its still 4 just piston calipers. However they do come with ZL1 logos on the calipers, so I guess thats worth a few grand in and of itself.

Ahh for the good old days, anyone else remember the F-41 sport suspension option you could get on just about every Chevy in the 60's and 70's. It consisted of larger front and rear sway bars( or added sway bars if the car didn't already have them ) stiffer springs and shocks, and larger and wider wheels and tires..... All for around $100.
