A lot of people thought there would be massive rebates on the Camaro too but it took till the fifth model year to see anything substantial. I would rather see the truck sell well so more options and models are made available.

Its a very bad sign if there are heavy incentives on a new model

Not always....heck...I believe the MSRP on full sizers are purposely high so they can look amazing when they offer those huge year end rebates.

There will need to be some kind of rebate on these trucks in my opinion to make them sell decently. I don't really think the price is super high, but at the same time, getting 8+ grand off a fullsize and only $500 off these will put them too close for comfort for most buyers.

A crew 4x4 LT silverado MSRPs for about 41. Can be had for around 33 with rebates. (give or take)

A similarly configured Colorado crew 4x4 LT will go for around 32. Lets say you can only get her down to 31,500 with rebates. Unless you really want the smaller size and mpg advantage (whatever that may be) as I do...I see most buyers opting for the full size simply b/c its bigger, and this is America...where bigger is better.

If the midsizers are selling well, well then I won't expect big rebates on them, but lets hope that GM "built in" room for at least a few grand or more off MSRP.

This^ A good friend of mines silverado listed for 45K and he got it for 36K, and his truck has got some nice options on it. And like I said earlier, if the new F-150 with the 2.7 gets better or equal mileage, like KM said this Merica! I would spring for the bigger truck

You know I was thinking about this... The 6th gen Camaro is supposedly going to get the LGX engine for 2016 (which will probably be a late summer, mid fall release I'm guessing)... Granted the LGX is supposed to be based on the LFX, I'm wondering why GM would release a completely new truck only a year before the main engine most of these trucks will probably end up becoming obsolete? I'm guessing if the does come out with the LFX, it may be a one year only deal, maaayyybe two years? LGX will probably use the same engine mounts, and retain what seems to be the common HFV6 bellhousing mounting pattern to allow for minimal changes in tooling, parts, etc for the truck?

Well the Lambda CUVs still use the LLT if that says anything.

I thought about this a while back. In my opinion, pretty much a guarantee that by the 3rd year, if not sooner, these mid size trucks will have the LGX and an 8+ speed transmission.

What vehicles are these? I thought the LLT was dead across the board by now.

I'd be shocked to see the LGX come out, and GM soldier on with the LFX in these midsize trucks for years (assuming the LGX is a replacement engine as we think it should be)

That's really what I'm waiting for. I should have the 1LE paid for by then. It's long shot looking at it right now with not even having rumors of it in the works but it makes sense. We need to see an 8speed or greater in a truck besides the 6.2L Silverado which isn't even out yet.
