Had a good time today at the Alden/Marilla car show today. It started out a little wet but dried up quick and got sunny.Name: uploadfromtaptalk1406502385731.jpg

Today, broke hermit cycle to get my hair cut every 4 weeks. Beautiful Saturday, clear skies in the mid 70s. Decided I was going to drive my 1998 Riviera that I have not used for two weeks. Riv. would not start, think the battery is dead, no surprise as it is the factory battery now pushing 16 years.
Don't hate me but I only have about 3 more weeks of being a hermit before I have to start answering job related emails. My hermit experience messed up next week. Monday Morning will have to call Auto Club to jump start the Riv. (in a parking garage) and deliver it to my GM dealership for battery testing and replacement. Tuesday have to go to bank and work out retirement funds, seems bank over invested in my tax free retirement accounts and now I owe Canada about $300.
But it was nice driving the Camaro today when I went to get my hair cut. Has been a week since I last drove the Camaro, loved the rumble of the CAT back exhaust installed about a month ago.
No one hates. I have some Canadian friends that take a five-six month vacation here in AZ Oct - March.

More nice pics. Looks like a great show!

Spent the weekend up in Williams, AZ where we took the Canyon Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. Nice ride that takes about 1 1/2 hours. When we returned Saturday evening, we ate at the Pine Country Restaurant just off Rt 66. I was happy to see so many folks crowding Williams and supporting the businesses.

On the way home, we drove across Rt 66 to Flagstaff, and just past Flagstaff when the road became VERY rough. We jumped onto I-40 and headed back to Flag. Then we jumped on 89A and drove through Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, and Prescott Valley. Saw the recent wildfire destruction in Oak Creek. It's still sorta smokey there.

Here are a few pics;

Lobby of the El Tovar Hotel at the Grand Canyon

A raven watching over the canyon

My son says this is a hanging canyon

Just nice

This is one side of the corner of Rt 66 and Grand Canyon Blvd in Williams

The other corner

Gas was real expensive in Williams. Further down the road, it was $4.29/gallon

Eateries were full.

I waited for the traffic to let up, stood out on Rt 66 and shot this, which is looking west.

The rest;

I was real concerned these night time pics would not turn out, but my Nikon amazes me!

Nice pics Rick!

It is going to be a very pleasant day here after we finally got some rain last evening. Just in the 80's. I hope it is going to be a nice day on Fridays for my drive down to get my mods done. Another 4 day work week for me. Coffee time now & off to work. Have a nice Monday everyone.

Going to vent so please excuse me.
For more than a decade filed my Canada income tax documents as I should. Three to four months after tax filing always receive a notice from Canada I can invest X $ into my tax free retirement account. I take that statement to my bank, say invest in government approved tax free retirement account. Should be simple and straight foreword and I did this for years.
Last year went to bank with government document and told bank to transfer from savings to whatever retirement account, same as I have done for the last decade. Newbie at Bank screwed up and over invested about $25,000 into my government retirement account. What do I know, trusted the bank. Last week received a NOTICE from Canada government, I was over invested $25,000 in my government retirement fund and now owe $250 in penalties and interest and penalties and interest increasing monthly.
Have an appointment with my bank in the morning. Seriously pissed. Yearly just get this letter from the government stating amount I can invest in tax free retirement account and bank totally screwed up first time in ten years.
Letter received from government, requires forms to be filled out with payment. Bank screwed up, going to demand Bank accountants complete forms tomorrow, I am willing to pay penalties tomorrow. But I want this resolved tomorrow. Can you tell I am stressed.
Also, the $25,000 I overpaid in my government retirement funds last year, must move to another account like daily savings or checking fast to avoid further penalties. I feel like a criminal fast transferring funds from one account to another. I am seriously pissed at my bank who I trusted to handle these issues and a bank employee newbie who screwed up my accounts. Stressed I owe money to Canada in penalties and interest getting higher daily.
Know I am stupid when it comes to finances. But bank made an error and tomorrow when I meet with a bank person they are going to know us Southern guys are not ALWAYS Polite and forgiving.

You should be able to get your bank to work it out with you and resolve the issue so that you are not out of pocket (they do not want to lose your business), but it will take being polite, LOL. Seriously, though, I know my bankers always bend over backward to resolve issues so while it is frustrating (and I'd feel exactly as you are), I would wager that they'll work it out okay. Good luck!

Today was a big day for my oldest granddaughter - she passed her road test and is now a licensed driver.

I'd like to think that putting her through the parallel parking drill a dozen or more times last week in our least-maneuverable stick-shift car made it feel easy when it came to her official driving evaluation by the DMV examiner in the driver training car.

After she gets just a little seat time, I'm going to put her through some hard braking drills, so that when it happens for real she'll be less likely to panic and more likely to just get on with the job of getting stopped. And then there's going to be a "Street Survival" event.

Congratulations to you granddaughter Norm. I love those pictures Rick I am going to have to put route 66 on the places I need to visit list. I found out today that I won my first show award yesterday. I left before the awards were handed out yesterday but my friends stayed till the end so I left my dash card with him and he picked it up for me. Our whole group won a top car award the judges must have had a thing for Camaros. It's still nice to get that first win even though it's not the reason I like to go to shows.

I don't blame you, I'd be pissed too. But I agree, the bank should pay the penalty. Hope they work it out with you appropriately.

Congrats to your granddaughter! Very cool of you to give her such great training. I wish I had someone like you to train me back when I was learning. Heck, I wish I had you to train me now!

Congrats on the win. Post pics of the award when you get a chance!

I had a pretty good day. Busy morning but my first afternoon client did not show so got the AM notes done then & on my lunch time. Then my next-to-the-last client did not show & last one came early so I got after noon notes done too. It was a perfect evening. Comfortable temp, low humidity & gentle breeze. Just sat outside, walked around the yard, swung, even did a little exercising on the deck & did not even sweat. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Yup, bank should be making this right. Politely state your case and do not back down. Money is easily moved from one financial institution to another.

3 more days till mods are going on! It is another crisp spring-like summer morning here. I found out yesterday, my immediate supervisor & friend is moving to a school based position so now I will be the lone surviving preschool staff person at the new office building. She will keep looking for a better job outside the company. They are dropping like flies now. Coffee needed! HAGD
