VICOvation is a good 'always on' option, no motion sensing option, but a solid 1080 hi fps cam. I use the TF2 and it goes thru 32 gig in ~8 hrs on 1080 setting.

If you're going to leave one in your car, make sure it can handle the winter/summer temps.

Watch this on 1080, if you pause it just before the bird hits, you can see his wing feathers...

It records interior as well as exterior so if needed you can get a rear and side shot. It records GPS and speed and it has a shock sensor so it'll record when it senses motion.

i want to stay around the same weight or less as a gopro, which i believe is 3.5 to 4.5 ounces , depending which model you get.

nice unit you listed, but for that price, i would get a go pro for the drone.
