Just jumped on the thread, really just answering the OP.
Very concerned they'll screw it up. But first and foremost I'm not worried about renderings or spy photos at all. When they do the reveal I'll see if I like it with an open mind because I really, really want to love it.

Next Gen
For the upcoming styling I think much attention should be payed to the Cad ATS. The Camaro is going to change more than we'd think. Many of the current model owners don't like the '14 tail lights (I think its an improvement) but I doubt the next gen will be anywhere close to what we have. One would have to seriously take a look at the Camaro evolution over the years and it hasn't always been particularly progressive. I love the 2014 styling of both the Camaro and the Stingray in total.

Thats why I bought the ZL1, if the next one is better, Ill trade up and get that. The C7 evolves even more to my liking, ie z51 package, z06.

This, this, this. I was worried the C6 would be ugly compared to the C5 and it wasn't. I was worried about the C7 being ugly compared to the C6 and it wasn't. I was worried when they brought the camaro back it'd be ugly and it wasn't. I was worried the '14 refresh would be ugly and it's practically what sold me on the car. So no, I am no longer worried about styling with GM performance vehicles. Hopefully this built up confidence in them won't come back to bite me in the ass, though either way I'm happy with what I have now. If the 6th gen ends up being amazing, I guess I'll trade up.

This is what I would love, pay and want to see GM build! But I don't have faith that GM would! The other renderings/ drawings are to import/ ricer like to me and don't show any camaro in them! It's funny because I was going to post this up. I saw this at the beginning of last year.
Everybody that I have showed love this. Thanx for posting! |

I agree! I never really liked the styling of corvettes until the 2014 stingray. Now... If only I was rich. My uncle just ordered a black 3LT Z51 with Kalahari leather and Performance Seats. I can't wait for it to get here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No matter what GM does with the next Camaro, some folks will love it and some will hate it. There's no getting around that.
The most resistance to change seems to be coming from some fans/owners of the current car. There seems to be a feeling that the current car is darn-near perfect, and GM shouldn't mess with success. I understand that some folks are totally in love with their cars, and that's great, but let's face it, the world isn't standing still. GM is competing with the Mustang... and Chrysler/Fiat... and the Japanese... and the Germans. The Camaro will change and must change. If you're enamored with the current Camaro, buy one. If you already own one and are totally in love with it but are afraid of the next generation, then consider buying a 2014 or 2015 while they're still available. Meanwhile, some of us are looking forward to and welcoming the idea of an Alpha-platform Camaro. There are a lot of things I like about the current car (i.e., powertrains, styling), but there are some areas that I think could be improved (i.e., visibility, weight, etc). I'm hoping that the next Camaro is smaller and lighter but with the same great engines and design. We'll see... |
