Okay, what kind of power you think be inside this Z06 ? If it is a 427 and available as a vert, I am in.

What tradition are you talking about? Having a blown motor? Things change. The Z/28 will likely be the last time we see an LS7. So, the next logical step to keep up with emissions standards is to downgrade the size of the engine. If you do that, N/A engines aren't an option for the hi-po model. If the rumors are true regarding it's price range ($90k+) then it has to blow the outgoing model's power numbers out of the water. Only way to do that is with FI.

LS7 will more than likely not show up in the C7 at all.

Also, I forgot to mention that Chevy has renewed the L88 nameplate. That means we may still see a blown ZR1 with an L88 with output over 700hp. Just going by the outstanding reception the base Z51 Stingray has gotten so far, I think we know fully well that GM isn't playing games anymore. GM is making a very serious and concentrated effort to be the king of the super cars. So, if the Z06 is already this nuts, the ZR1 (if there is one) will be an truly exceptional machine.

If they go any kind of FI for a "Track Car" like a ZO6 is supposed to be, it should be Turbo.
I could see a BIG version of the LT1 called an LT7 hell there is no reason they can't get another 550-575 HP out of a 7.0 version of the LT1. The way this car is set up it will out perform any previous versions. I think the ZR1 should definitely go TT...

Plus, when you consider the CAD image of the LT4 blown motor that has been circulating for a while now, as well as the resurrection of the "L88" nameplate (possible for the ZR1), it very much looks like the Z06 will have a blown motor. OR, another possibility is that you'll have a choice of engine. For example, you can have a base model Z06 with an n/a 427 version of the LT1 (LT7) for around $85k, or have the choice of a blown LT4 for $90K. Every indication, however, especially from what I've seen on numerous forums, is that the car will have an LT4 and cost upwards of $90K. I mean we already know this car has cup tires, and is likely to have ceramic brakes. Therefore, it is very much a track car. It will also be $$$$$$

As much as I would love to see another 7.0, I just don't think that's going to happen. I do hope they keep the Z06/Z07 NA, though. If the Z06 comes in about 200-300 lbs below the Z51 and has a ~520-550 HP version of the new DI V8 I would love it. Keep the FI for the ZL1 and ZR1. JMHO.

Motortrend seems to think there's a chance of seeing an N/A 7.0 with direct injection, but I haven't' heard of any new engine like that. But I would think a 550 (more or less) N/A engine wrapped in a tighter even more track oriented Corvette would be just perfect. Damn this car is the shizzle.

EDIT; I should say that emission might prevent them. We'll see.
