As a former mustang owner myself, I can definitely say I am MUCH happier with the Camaro. I test drove both and Camaro was by FAR the winner for me.

Welcome!!

My wife drives a 2009 Mustang and I drive a 2011 Camaro. Both V6's and I can assure you when Chevy came out with the LLT V6 that Ford was embarrassed and quickly pushed the 3.7 L into production. Here is a quote from my wife after the first time she drove my car, "That is not fair!". As soon as Ford popped the 3.7L in though the tables turned again. It was a one year (2010) victory for GM who still has not responded.
The LS3/L99 did in fact get Ford to push the all redesigned 5.0L as well. That levelled the playing field pretty good with a slight edge to the Stang. Then came the Boss, then the ZL1, and now the ShelbyGt500...and who knows whats next.
They both make good vehicles. I am a die hard Chevy guy but admit the Mustang is a blast to drive as well. GM has quirks/problems with the Camaro too...check out the transmission threads in both V6 and V8 versions (manual trans). GM hasn't done any better of a job fixing the known issues and complaints than Ford has done.
Oh and did the saleman tell you how much Onstar costs after the free period is over? It's not free And there is no factory Nav if you drop Onstar. So each has its weaknesses, pick the one that is best for you. As for the Transformers car, well it's not my style just like I wouldn't drive the General Lee or Smoky and the Bandits TA or the Weinermobile But is is limited production so jump on one when you can afford to if that is your dream car.

Yeah, the Camaro Transformers 3 edition is now one of my dream cars, I will own one...one day probably far from now.

I love special edition cars, stickers are the bomb. I love attention getting cars too. That's why I am gonna straight pipe my next car, hehe.

I too wonder where this muscle car war will take us, with the 2013 GT500 and the ZL1 coming to be, what's next? We have already reached super car levels of horsepower and torque, so where will we go next? It's such a good time to be living! The days of the muscle car are here again, probably for the last time!

My Mustang friend told me that Ford and Chevy had an agreement, because of GM taking bail out money and rebuilding themselves Ford agreed to delay the release of their 5.0 motor until 2011 that way Chevy could make some money and have one year to be the fastest muscle car on the road. Is that even true? I really doubt it. He said that a Ford technician told him this, but why would a Ford dealer tech even know about a deal of that magnitude? I am sure it would be a huge secret if it was true. Right?

I don't mean to start anything asking that, but I would kind of like to know.

I doubt Chevy would take a deal like that, that's like bending over and letting Ford do dirty things to Chevy.

I fear by 2025 if the gov't get's their way the V8's will be limited to trucks and 'muscle' cars will hold a turbo 4 banger. I think they are expecting 50+ mpg fleet averages.

Sounds like Ford Fan talk to me. No way would Ford give up profits and not pounce on a wounded prey if they could have.

I don't know why we it seems that we have to be "haters" of the competition. My family is die-hard Mustang. My husband has a Mustang GT, we just bought my son a Mustang GT, and I have a Camaro. Sports cars are awesome no matter what they are. We do a little fun-natured ball busting of each other every now and then, but I never look at another sports car and bash it while truly meaning it.

Can't we all just get along????? Does it matter who is better, who is faster, who is whatever.....?

Nice to see another member to join the Camaro family. When I was 19 in 2010 I went to check out the new Camaros at one lot in town. I went up to one, started looking around the outside and was checking to see if the doors were locked to look inside at the interior.

As soon a I went to grab the door handle a salesman ran out and said "you can't touch that it's sold! So I said "well, what about these other 2 beside it? "ya, those too." So I asked if I could book a test drive, "nope, due to the performance aspect of the car you need to have to be pre-approved for the full amount of the car."

I guess some dealers are scared of young guys test driving cars. I may have been 19, but I had a job paying $28/hr and could have afforded it. No credit yet though. It turned me off the car for a while til I saw one used an fell back in love. Don't give up til they let you test drive one, if your spending the dough you should drive it first.

Totally agree with you. I like Mustang's, Challenger's and Camaro's...but I only LOVE one. The Mustang has tired me out, both from the rude community, the problems I have been having with my car from the beginning, along with just reaching the peak point of my modifications and no longer having any-wheres to go and getting bored.

You just bought your son a Mustang GT? How old is he? What year was it? Is it a 5.0? Wow, I wish I was that lucky. I almost got a new R/T Challenger but messed up in school. lol

Wow, that is messed up! I got ignored when I went with my parents to look at cars. Haha, no one believed they would buy it for me. I hope going alone won't be as bad as your experience. I am too scared to buy a car used, so my only choice is buying new. Unless I get over my fear of that.

Thanks for the welcome!
