Would be kind of fun to drive a RHD SUV in the states
A US-spec TrailBlazer would probably be built at Wentzville alongside the Colorado, which it's based off of.

I love rear wheel drive too, but I understand using FWD in those two CUV's
FWD results in a compromised 4WD/AWD architecture that makes it useless for anything but mild use. I can see transverse engine/FWD as the basis for a cute like the Equinox, but the size of the Traverse/Acadia would have best been served by a RWD BOF design that looks less like a minivan.

Right, but if they don't plan on bringing it stateside, I'm curious how difficult it would be to import a Thailand version...

An SS would be great competition for the SRT Jeeps.

So 10 different people have implied 10 different things.

Will this thing be a real SUV (a truck), or a CUV (a car with the handling and fuel economy of a truck, but none of the capabilities)?

It's an SUV.

Agree with this. If this comes to the US and looks decent enough, it MIGHT sway me from a future Dodge Durango purchase.

It will take a lot to sway me from the Durango. I didnt think anything could sway me from getting a used 2011 Explorer in a couple years but after seeing how nice the Durango is inside and how much bigger in the back it is over the Explorer, im sold. As long as the mechanics hold up anyway.

2013 Trail Blazer will be too new to buy used for $20,000. So I guess its Durango for me.

So it's a body on frame, a primary RWD, and has a lockable transfer case with a low range?

It's built off the BOF RWD Colorado platform, so that's what it's sounding like.

How is this new Trailblazer different from the old one, (wasn't that built off the Colorado platform)? Will the inline six be back, or is there a different engine in the works?

GMT-360 predates GMT-355 by two years.

This is an all-new design based on an all-new Colorado built on an all-new platform.

The 4.2L is dead.

I see. I didn't know there was a new Colorado coming too. Nice to see GM building an actual mid-size SUV, particularly since Ford threw in the towel.

Since the 4.2L is dead, does that mean the 2.9L and 3.7L derivations are dead too?

And so what will power these trucks? The 3.6L base, and a small block V8 optional? Or perhaps that new, medium-sized diesel they've been dropping hints about?
