A US-spec TrailBlazer would probably be built at Wentzville alongside the Colorado, which it's based off of.

FWD results in a compromised 4WD/AWD architecture that makes it useless for anything but mild use. I can see transverse engine/FWD as the basis for a cute like the Equinox, but the size of the Traverse/Acadia would have best been served by a RWD BOF design that looks less like a minivan.

An SS would be great competition for the SRT Jeeps.

So 10 different people have implied 10 different things.
Will this thing be a real SUV (a truck), or a CUV (a car with the handling and fuel economy of a truck, but none of the capabilities)?

It's an SUV.

Agree with this. If this comes to the US and looks decent enough, it MIGHT sway me from a future Dodge Durango purchase.

2013 Trail Blazer will be too new to buy used for $20,000. So I guess its Durango for me. |

So it's a body on frame, a primary RWD, and has a lockable transfer case with a low range?

It's built off the BOF RWD Colorado platform, so that's what it's sounding like.

How is this new Trailblazer different from the old one, (wasn't that built off the Colorado platform)? Will the inline six be back, or is there a different engine in the works?

This is an all-new design based on an all-new Colorado built on an all-new platform. The 4.2L is dead.

Since the 4.2L is dead, does that mean the 2.9L and 3.7L derivations are dead too? And so what will power these trucks? The 3.6L base, and a small block V8 optional? Or perhaps that new, medium-sized diesel they've been dropping hints about?
