This'll be an SUV, not a Crossover.

SUV = Sport Utility Vehicle
CUV = Crossover Utility Vehicle

The TrailBlazer is a mid-sized SUV whereas the Tahoe is a full-sized SUV and the Suburban is a mega-sized SUV. All rear-wheel drive with optional four-wheel drive trims.

The Equinox and Traverse are both CUV's. Both are front-wheel drive vehicles with an optional all-wheel drive on the upper trim levels.

The problem with the Equinox and Traverse is they put the engines in crooked and made the wrong wheels turn.

This is good news. However I was hoping to buy a used, new generation Durango or explorer somwhere around 2013 or 2014 for around $20,000. As another member said the Traverse looks too much like a minivan. I like the looks and size of the New Durango. The new Explorer is also nice, but smaller. I like the idea of a Trailblazer in the same category of Explorer and Durango.

It sucks that this wont come out till 2013 cuz it wont have time to get down to that $20,000 range when im ready to buy.

I already have a 2010 Equinox which my wife drives.

Not really. Front whell drive has many advantages. Especially for a CUV which is not meant to go off-road.

I love rear wheel drive too, but I understand using FWD in those two CUV's

Why downsize Equiniox? I have one and if it was any smaller we wouldnt have bought it. Seems stupid to make it smaller. Its major selling points are the rear leg room and decent cargo room for its class.

Because it's currently straddling the line between a compact CUV and a midsize CUV, similar to what the current CTS is in the luxury sedan market. Only difference is that there's an ATS to allow CTS to grow.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the focus group that indicated a need for another Chevy SUV/CUV.

The focus group that wanted towing/off-road capabilities in a midsize package?

Tahoe is too big for a lot of folks and the Equinox/Traverse aren't strong enough for anything other than occasional light-duty on-pavement tasks.

And like I said earlier, US consumption is not definite. This TrailBlazer is aimed primarily at overseas markets in SE Asia and South America where the S-10 and the S-10 Blazer (yes, our S-10 and S-10 Blazer from almost a decade ago with minor updates) are still sold.

Speak of the devil...

I do have it on good faith that it will eventually make it stateside though...think about how long the Colorado was not slated for US sales...

I guess importing them would be difficult, then?

Would be kind of fun to drive a RHD SUV in the states
