Ok. lol, I told my son that we have no family in Alabama so it could be weeks before anyone even knew he was missing, much less find his body if he told Bonnie.

I was on my way home from the office this afternoon and looked at my gas and thought, "What the hell", so I chanced it and got on the bridge here in Mobile. Made it to the other side and through the tunnel closely mointoring and assesing the situation. As I got through the tunnel I passed the first exit,,,,, then the second and all the way to about 5 miles from my normal filling station. I felt like Kramer in that one episode of Seinfeld.

Something told me I was at the end of the fumes so I finally picked what I thought was as far as I could go. Got to the light to turn left with the green aarow and.......... kaput.......... car died. About half mile from the station.

So I push the blue On-Star button and the nice lady comes on to tell me that my account is inactive.... but I just had them unlock my door a month or so ago...... She was really polite when she asked if I wanted to renew my account. All I heard was "Hey, dumbass, give me your money or your screwed." Well that conversation went nowhere fast so I hung up on her. (I'd have renewed my account and re-upped if it didn't take so Fing long) Of course sitting IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION tends to make one impatient. Fortunately I possitioned myself for eveyone else to be able to easily get around, but I was in a 'Fish Bowl' for ALL to see.

And so I call my son and tell him to come get me. Threaten that if he doesn't get there in 10 minutes I'd take his license and make him turn the keys to the Jeep in to me. (Then tell him to drive safely lol) Takes him 20 minutes which I guess was fine considering he stopped and got a can of gas.

YES, the worst part is the FU**ING smart ass Mustang who revved the SHIT out of his engine and laughed. (seriously, how did he know I didn't break an axle ) And all I could do is sit there and play Angry Birds and keep waving the people behind me around as the light turned green.

So laugh it up Chris...... I know I deserve it........

as a technical advisor...

I have to put the dislcaimer of not running your car that low on gas. running the tank low (regularly in some cases) can burn up the pump due to heat (as the gas cools the pump) and from cavitation (from lack of fuel).

that being said...

I always thought it was women who were the typical "running out of gas" culprits.

I have lost a little faith in my gender...

Dude, I was thinking about you the whole time too. Kept thinking "Shit, this is killing my fuel pump AND having my BAP might not be helping either".

Of all the people I've ever known that have run out of gas while driving they've all only been male and "Trying something".

I was looking at it the whole time. Seeing how low I could take it. And I found out. I was pretty close. I knew I wouldn't make it to the next exit and I knew I was about at that point. I was just a quarter mile short.

I ran out in an intersection last week, thankfully I coasted like 30 feet and went off the road. I didn't know onstar did that, so I called my buddy who took a bunch of pictures and put them all on Facebook. I had no intention of anyone except C5 to know about that

awww... you were thinking of me the whole time you were damaging your car? thats sweet.

seriously tho... go buy a can of seafoam and leave it in the trunk. I've helped many a person out before because they stalled on the road just short of the gas station. look in the back of the truck and the only "fuel" I had was a large can of seafoam. pour it in and they fire right up and drive the last bit to the gas station.
