cool story, but the article gives reasons for the guys suspicions being "engine was replaced" "other parts from different sources"

they're kidding right? for 28k, he'd better not expect a numbers matching 427ci car with all original parts!!!

Yeah...the purchaser should have had a major tip off at the VIN as well as that 5-speed transmission... Pretty certain the first four digits proclaim that to be a 6 cylinder sport coupe. And there appears to be no headliner in it as well as other random issues...$28k was pretty high for that car - even with the 427.

Reminds me of the Corvette stolen umpteen years ago then found many years later. The original owner got it back all restored! The Corvette is now at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

I liked the story right up to the point that the original owner said he was going to sell it when he got it back, to me.....that killed the whole story, if he had insurance on the car when it was stolen.....he doesn't deserve it back, it should go to the insurance company that paid oiff on it in 75.
