BMR cradle lockout advice

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a bunch of upgrades and one of the things I see people doing is the BMR Cradle lockout as a measure to prevent wheel hop and stiffen up the sway in the rear when when you punch it at 40-60mph. Something I myself have noticed on many an occasion even.

The shop I'm discussing all this with is telling me that it'll stiffen up the rear end alot and I'll hear every little thing. They are recommending against it.

From all the videos and reading I've done, that doesn't seem to be the case, but perhaps I'm wrong?

https://bmrsuspension.com/product/1635?color=black

Any advice?

It's a cheap, easy to install mod that works great. I hear nothing different coming from the rear after doing it.

BS.

I have this lockout kit, too, and it works very well. You will not hear any difference but the rear end will be more stable, especially when flooring it from a dig or a roll. You won't regret it.

It's a great mod imo...I'd also suggest the diff lockout...really solidifies the rear end...I'd do it again....

Sounds like the shop just don't want to do the work.

Even doing the ZLE cradle bushings in conjunction with BMR's complete rod end arm package at the same time, I didn't get much more noise. Granted - my car's pretty low miles, and I'm entirely confident what noise I do get is from the rod ends, but I'd trade any of that for getting the cradle locked in as best as possible. I added their front braces for the cradle, too, so it's locked in good. I just noticed CPR's diff' brace kit from one of CSP's latest videos, so that's on my radar for the future. I might do some diff' bushing upgrades, too, just to lock all of that in.

My car had sway BAD, even on DRs. It was scary.

Not only is this a highly regarded recommendation. It's a MUST on these cars. No noise from by BMR lockout kit. It absolutely solves the swaying issue. I also recommend changing the carrier to chassis brace bolt, out for an ARP 234-2503 bolt.

Thanks all - Yeah I'm not sure where they got their information, but after sending them the link again, they realized it was a different kit than they originally thought and all is well.

I've done the same BMR Cradle Lock Kit and Bushings. The car totally hooked up way better and there it had almost NO noticeable rear end sway or torque steer under WOT. This car was never this easy to drive from the dig until now! I have since added the BMR rear suspension kit and the BMR 15" conversion kit.

This is my complete build thread, some of those posts is about the BMR Cradle lockout and bushing kit. Then, post #812 is where I start posting about the BMR Rear Suspension and 15" Conversion. Good Luck!

Only positives with the BMR cradle lockout kit. No added noise, vibration, harshness.

Not to hijack this thread, but are there replacements suspension bolts that can be used instead of the factory one-time use parts?

I have the BMR Lockout kit in my 2017 SS. Definitely makes the rear more solid. I don't get more noise to you can tell a difference in the feel of the car. You will feel more of the bumps in the road and I do notice the backlash in the rear differential on deceleration. Both are nothing bad but just something to be aware of.

I also find that I notice much sooner when my tires have a little wear in them and are starting to get a little bit of imbalance.

So you will fill more connected to the road and the car, which is a good thing.

I guess what I am trying to say is that the car will communicate more to you.
