Fuel Pump not priming?

So went to unlock the car today (it’s been on a trickle charger like every year for winter) and when I did usually you’ll hear the fuel pump prime but this time it was just the doors unlocking, opened the door and no prime either and even turned it to ACC and it didn’t prime. Anyone else ran into this issue before? Not sure if it’s a relay, the battery is OEM from 2019 but this is also the first winter since the build so not sure if there’s a draw on it from the DSX aux pump or something?

Didn’t try cranking it over yet

Not sure if the pump will prime in ACC, might need to push the button again (foot off the brake pedal) to get the car into KEY-ON mode for the pump to do the 2 second prime.

Usually it primes as soon as I unlock the car or open the door it’s always done that.

That is not normal operation. The factory fuel pump primes at key on engine off. If you have an aux pump, it can be rigged up however and if someone rigged it up to work that way then that's wrong.

You might want to specify if you are talking about the in tank set up or you are talking about the aux pump.

The factory pump primes when you unlock the car or open the drivers door to pressurize the fuel lines.

You're on the right track...Relay, fuse or door latch sensor might be some initial checks..

Yeah that's definitely not normal. I wonder if you may be having an issue with you FPDCM which is located under the car by the diff. You don't hear many stories about them going but they have in the past and can go. Luckily they are easily obtainable (seriously, you can get them from O'Reilly's or AutoZone) from local parts stores without much issue.

Going to have to bust out the diagnostics on this one brotha. I'm sorry you're having these issues.

The fuel pump doesn't have a relay or fuse.

Does the car not start? If the pressure is already within its desired pressure it wont prime.

When I bought my car brand new, I often noticed when I would unlock the doors or open a door (if it wasn't locked) or the trunk. It would make a noticeable swoosh sound. A few days later after hearing it off and on over the weekend. I called my sales guy and asked why sometimes did my car make that sound. He told me that it is pressurizes the fuel system, it does that if the car has been off for a lengthy period of time. So, I can confirm my car did make this sound when it was new before any work was ever done to it.

Oh yes it does my brother...

K2 relay which drives the FPDCM to turn on and off which drives the fuel pump, and two fuses in the rear. The pump itself does not have direct fuses for it but it does have fuses for the FPDCM that is by the diff which are under the the trunk mat. It's fuse 35 and 46.
