In Sport and Track, the more aggressive throttle/transmission calibrations make AFM less likely to engage because the car is tuned for performance, higher RPMs, quicker shifts, and more responsive pedal inputs but it’s not hard-disabled. If conditions are right (light throttle, steady speed, low load), it can still kick in to save fuel. The only sure way to make it 100% go away is to use the Range AFM disabler that plugs into your OBD port. For as long as it’s plugged in, you have all 8 cylinders all the time. |

My lt1 stays in sport mode all the time even though I’ve been told by Pray that tour is the best shifting and such. For the record my Lt1 doesn’t have track mode
I can’t tell the difference anyway

how programmable is the NPP exhaust?
Can we: -program it to be SHUT on cranking? -program it to be open for one USER Profile (spousal unit) -program it always OPEN for another profile (Papa Bear) -closed for cranking, then open afterwards for Papa Bear? since we are talking modes, which mode DEF gives "Economy" performance? my DD gets 45 mpg, the camaro hangs around 21mpg around town, shows 27ish on highway. you guys comments on Sport Mode throttle tip in is interesting. there was a giant box truck creeping along a skinny road, and he waved me to sneak around him, i had it in SPORT, and spun the tires taking off, i was very surprised, but maybe it was the Throttle Tip In, and not me being a Jack Wagon? |

I switch between them quite a bit.
Tour is used for highway, as the suspension is nice and plush, easy steering. Same if there's any rough roads, or train tracks coming up. Tour mode. Sport is mostly the default. It's great for all the twisty roads I get to drive on daily. Suspension is pretty stiff. Throttle response is wildly un-linear but I like its eagerness, so I'm ok with it. Track is for when I really want to push it, as the pedal is way more linear, and the suspension is even stiffer. Exhaust is always set to "Track" |

You'll also see that the valves are closed (value = 100) even in track mode in low rpm/high gear scenarios aka highway driving, that's why some people pull fuse F51 to make sure their valves remain in the default state (the tune sets this to "Open") at all times. I have the A8, so only 8 forward gears captured in these tables, but they are likely very similar for the A10 as well, except they accommodate the 2 additional gears, of course.

It's not as in depth as they make it appear and definitely do not overthink it. Open/ close tables all get set to the same values on my set up to keep things simple, since the valves on the Camaro do not allow for partial open/ partial close. I'll have to take some screen caps of how I have mine configured so you can see what I'm getting at, and why I run it the way I do. It works, and it works exactly how I want it to work when it's being commanded to work, and it's really effective for the Corsa NPP mufflers I use.

My SS 6MT is always in sport mode, I like the way my steering feels, and the car stays in sport mode all time, if I select track I hate that after shutting off and restarting it always goes back to tour, and on track mode I feel the steering too hard to move, in tour mode I feel the steering too loose, so sport is perfect for me, my npp valves always open since I removed that fuse. Suspension feels always the same sporty but comfortable since I don't have the magnetic shocks, don't have to worry about the excessive cost of replacing the magnetic shocks in the future.

I'm not too familiar in the real world with snow/ice mode on the valves. I want to say that when you shut the car off in snow/ice mode it will default back to tour mode on startup. |

I toggle back and forth between touring and sport based on road conditions. Another factor is whether I want some snap crackle and pop, or to try and avoid attracting attention around cops.
On track, it's suspension and exhaust sent to track mode, and sport for the steering.

Sport.
Tour is "fine" but has slower throttle response. With a manual, I don't like how it takes off from a stop. Track is also perfectly fine, but it's one of two modes that the car will not start up in (the other is Ice/Snow, and it defaults back to Tour if you turn it off in either of these modes). So, Sport is the happy medium for me. |

on my way to work this morning, i had it in track mode for a while and tour mode for a while. both seemed ok on the throttle sensitivity, sport mode is the one where it seems to be touchy on throttle.
i have my suspension, exhaust, and steering set to where i want so they do not change with the modes. interesting how gm programmed all the modes. |
