Cobra radar detectors

Have been considering an inexpensive cobra rad 350 radar detector at 85 dollars from walmart. I do not speed a whole lot but was thinking with the yellow color of my SS it might attract some cops attention and would be nice to know when they are around. the reviews look good on this model, does anybody have one of these and how do you like it?
another question does anyone use a mount for your phone? I just put mine in the cup holder and that seems to work ok, but curious of any holders that work well for Camaro's . Thanks!

I bought the rad700, rear view mirror mount, and gen5diy hardwire kit. Looks good and is nice piece of mind but I still rely on my eyes more than anything.

Vortex Radar is the premiere source for radar detector reviews.

https://www.vortexradar.com/

For phone mounts, I got the Pro Clip USA mount - just the mount itself. Then I got a sticky pad mount (MagSafe charging mount for me) to mount to it with 3M adhesive. Works great.

thanks, I will probably get one of those cobra detectors soon and see how I like it. be better than nothing and most reviews look like it is pretty good.
might also try setting my phone back in the charger location but will probably not like it since it sets so far behind the front seat. the cup holders also work ok.

Can't you get a Uniden R3 at least? Having a false sense of safety is worse than not owning a detector and being on the lookout at all times...

how are the radar detectors working in the cupholder? that doesn't seem like it would get good range?

after more research yeah looks like the cobra 700i is the best choice according to reviews. it is 230 dollars and they say it performs as well as others costing up to 3 times more.
it is their newest model, read that cobra was bought out or merged with another company a few years ago and this is new technology from that company. has a magnet mount also so can take it down easily. looks nicer.

He was talking about putting his PHONE in the cupholder. But yeah, I thought he was talking about the radar detector at first too.

I ended up ordering the cobra 380 with a nicer windshield mount and an usb cord for it, was around $120 or so for all of it. the cobra 380 is $100. it is the updated version of the cobra 350 so hopefully it works ok. got it all off amazon.
& i did try storing my phone in the holder behind the seats , it works ok but still handier to just put it in the cup holders. good enough for me lol.

The Uniden R3 is awesome, as is the R4. Best range and getting MultiRadar is a bonus. I went with R3, it's been perfect.

I got it installed last night, everything worked ok except for the usb cord was too short to reach, it barely reaches the glove box so I used the standard cord it came with. I did tuck the power cord under where the knee pad is, looks nicer with the cord hidden there. the optional windshield mount is nicer than what it comes with, just has the one larger suction cup that has a lock unlock feature and can adjust the level of it. have only had it on for this morning to work and it only beeped once real fast when i was getting gas, think it picked up the automatic doors at the grocery store. will see how well it works in the future days.

Vortex is THE go to for advice. Met the man personally. Top notch. I am apart of the RDF forum which discusses RD and Laser jammers. I run a Uniden r8 but have been happy with my Valentine. Both are around $800 and the LJ will cost around $3k but pay to play.

I did meet an approaching cop yesterday on way home from work and it did alert me, so it seems to be working. not many false alerts in town either, no false ones on the highway. it is worth the 100 bucks i think.
