Regarding the MAP codes
We often see that the jumper harnesses provided are not keyed in a way that they can't be plugged in either way which will often invert the signals to 3 wire MAP connector. We have also seen them pinned wrong. The best way to know is a Key on Engine off log looking as Barometric pressure as a reference and MAP pressure they should agree within 1 Kpa. To many times we see 0 MAP during this test, flip the 3 wire connector at teh factory harness and we get 100 Kpa or whatever Baro is.

I have tried calling Edelbrock (hold/phone jail for several hours) and emailing them. The only response I've received was from their calibration team, which was just a scripted message. The majority of items in the kit are GM OEM parts. Other than the blower itsself (which seems very nice and totaly fine so far), everything that Edelbrock produced in the kit is of very poor quality. i.e, QD hoses, hardware kits and harness'. Rest assured, when this is all said and done - I will be doing a very thorough writeup documenting the good things and the shortcomings of this kit and perhaps Edelbrock as a company. I have a rather long list of problems identified so far. I will make certain that anybody who decides to spend this kind of money in the future will, at the very least, be able to quickly identify these problems instead of asking around and/or figuring it out on their own. |

Another quick update. It's very likely that some here already know this. Edelbrock MAF/MAP harness only has the IAT portion of the TMAP wired in. They use the factory MAP sensor for manifold pressure and the provided 2 bar sensor for IAT only. Waste of a sensor and a very bizarre way of doing things.
In any event, pulled the two pins out of the 3 pin plug and ran them into a gm 4 bar sensor. Reading correctly now on the 4 bar and things look good. Took all of 10 minutes, and the harness still looks like it grew there. Like I said before, I will add this into the full writeup from start to finish. If for nothing else, when I cant remember what the hell I did to the car a year ago ![]() Thanks again to Ted for the guidance. |

Well, I'm considering this phase of the build complete.
Hit a couple snags here and there. Most of which were just my lack of experience with this platform. But overall, these cars are pretty simple creatures to work on. Final list of mods - Edelbrock 2650 @7psi, 2highpsi valve covers and tstat housing, 95mm lt5 TB, 2" ARH headers and long system with stock suitcase, jms fuel max, LT4 HPFP and injectors, Moroso coolant overflow, , and probly some other silly things I can't remember. Remote Tuned by JRE. Will be hitting the dyno in the next couple weeks. Car feels pretty strong. Thanks to all for the tips along the way, and of course Ted for the professional interaction. Next season, fresh forged bottom end and more boost I'm working through polishing up a writeup/walkthrough to possibly help others in the future. |

Nice work! That’s a pretty time-tested setup for a SBE LT1, should be good for 600-620 WHP I’d guess at 7 psi as that is what my old Whipple 2.9 w/95mm TB on 7 psi put down on a SBE back in the day. Your car will be much more fun to drive now lol

Promising to hear. Hoping to land somewhere near that. Would be happy with high 500's considering the motor is completely stock and this is basically a bolt on situation. Definitely much more spicy to drive around.

Will have to take a peek at what the max advance is during a pul, I don't recall tbh. It ramps in and is extremely dynamic on these ecus..where specifically are you referring in the rpm range/gear? Also, 93. We have no real source of e85 in the Peoples Republic of new york.

OK. Well, if you can look at a WoT pull, lets take 4th gear as an anchor, somewhere between 4500 - 6000 RPM. Have a look at Spark advance, AFR range. Would be interesting to see the data.
