What Drag Tires in 17 inches to improve my 8.8@160.2mph
I would like to improve my 60 foot to at least 1.34. I am doing 8.82 @ 160.5mph with 305 45 r17 Mt tires. I wondering if there is a better tire in 17 inches. Example the hoosier 28 X10.5 r17 or the MT Pro?
The car is 2017 zl1 1100whp |

I just heard about a new brand called Arturo. Might take a look at that?

They make a drag radial, the AZ850DR might be worth a try... Their prices are very reasonable...

Most of the big power cars go to a 15” conversion , even though I prefer the 17” setup if I’m being honest. The 15” wheel is so tight that there’s no room on the barrel for balancing weights.

Car is spinning the tires, I remove a lot of power to be able to do 1.39. Full build engine and transmission with a 2650 and supporting fuel system.

Have you tried 2nd gear launch and putting power back in?

I am doing 2nd year, limiting low end power. That is how I do the 1.39 60". Currently using the mt et street R 305 45 r17. I wondering if there is better tire but in 17 inches to add more power out of the line. The car with the power it has should be doing 8.5 to 8.6.

Maybe @ZL1Atlanta will chime in. He’s running 1.22 60’ times but believe he’s on 15” drag radials as well.
Other option is to talk to Kelly at Kelltrac. The man knows how to get modern muscle to hook off the line.

I can’t believe you guys aren’t running this tire?
https://www.mickeythompsontires.com/...-street-r-bias I ran the tall ones on my fbo car but they were too tall for my power level. I see they recently came out with a shorter one, which would’ve been perfect for me. That’s frustrating…that would’ve worked for me I would think the short ones would still be an improvement for you. They actually wrinkle when aired down. I ran that 305 street r too, the dot bias ply have way more to work with…m5 compound too Anyway I drove these an hour to and from the track on stock fronts..the sidewall is pretty stiff and stable. Really felt like a radial.
