ZL-1 Tire Pressure
I took my ZL-1 to the dealer for the BCM recall. When I got it back I had a low pressure tire warning. I checked my pressures and they were all within 1 or 2 psi of 32 PSI which is what is on the sticker inside the door. Just this morning, I received my July diagnostics report via e-mail and it said, " Our diagnostic check shows that your tire pressure requires immediate attention. Improper tire pressure can compromise vehicle safety and decrease fuel economy. Please see vehicle maintenance for details on resolving this issue. ", " Recommended
49 psi Front | 49 psi Rear ". Has GM changed the recommended settings different than what is in the door sticker? Has anyone else had this happen to them after the BCM recall? I did do a search for tire pressure and nothing came up.

Summer I run 30/31 cold.
I'll run 33/34 when the temps get cool (<50).

The typical street car tire has a max burst pressure of 50-51 psi, so if you put 49 psi into them cold and gain an extra 3-4 psi as the tire heats up, you'll run north of the tire's factory spec. AFAIK the recommended cold tire pressure is still 32/32 for wide tires (SS 1LE, ZL1, ZL1 1LE) and 35/35 for the runflats on the SS / LT.

Yes, I think the dealership did something wrong when they reflashed my BCM. It is going back Friday for the fuel line TSB so I will have them correct the tire pressure warning then.

Why wouldn't you just air them down before you drive the car?

Curr, if you look at my first post all of my tires are and always have been within 1 or 2 psi of 32. I never considered raising them to 49 psi. I was just trying to see if anyone else had the same issue when they had their BCM recall taken care of or if there was some new pressure requirement (Which I highly doubted).
Thank you to all who commented.

People wouldn't use these crazy high cold pressures even on a road course, but hopefully they will chime in and confirm.

For the factory SC3s 37-38psi, hot is the sweet spot for track days. Any higher, they get "greasy" on track. Street 32-34psi would be fine IMHO.
