Exactly, a bunch of us dealt with the exact same thing back in 2006 on an aviation site, a site that we all relied on that was so overrun with ads (not so much bots back then) and it just didn't work (or you were viewing the site and some crappy ad for a Russian Bride would pop up and your wife would walk in "Oh, what are you looking at!?!?!?!"
A bunch of members at that old, ad ridden, crappy forum that hardly worked said "We'd much rather pay a small annual fee to have a site that works, that is out of the public view and the doesn't have a bunch of random ads" and that is what I created and 19 years later it is still thriving, without a single paid ad (ever), we don't have to serve the advertisers (because we have NONE), we serve the users of our site (our sponsors), every single day... And in return, they have a site that has worked extremely reliably for the past 19+ years, every single day, without issue, NO bots, NO spam, NO ads, just a site that works, for about $2 a month (y'all spend FAR more on a SINGLE cup of coffee on a single morning than an entire month of forum access cost)... I absolutely LOVE the fact that we are not beholden to any advertisers and have absolutely NO agenda but to serve our membership who wholly support us... Exactly the way it should be... While you can't see the content as a none member: ProPilotWorld.com I offered to create the same for 6th Gen Camaros but there was some concern of the loss of information that already exists on this forum that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't work... So I didn't pursue it... If I got enough traction, I'd pull the trigger... I did it once with great success, I'm more than happy to do it again... But I need to know there are enough behind the project to do it because it is a lot of work...

Captain, I'm afraid it's too late now, we should've gone in this direction with the forum in 2018 or 2019.
Also, your forum is for fellow professionals who, I imagine, have a very strong interest in discussions with their peers, whereas this forum is for owners of a car make and model with a very low barrier to entry, so putting up a paywall barrier is more of a problem, i.e. very few will want to sign up just to show a photo of their new Camaro or ask their first question when they have an issue with their car. Alas, there probably isn't enough cohesion to sustain your (vastly superior) forum model. That said, the extent this forum is abandoned from a maintenance perspective is a disgrace and the owners should be embarrassed about this.

Going to get my BCM and TCM flashed tomorrow for the 2 campaigns ("Vehicle Security Issue" & "A10 Early Valve Failure")... I REALLY dread going to the dealer... Only 2nd time there is 5+ years of ownership (the other was another computer issue)
I'll report back...

Like everyone else, ambient light and auto-windows down with the fob was reset... Otherwise, no other changes... Time to reinstall my various theft deterrent items...

My bro in law has an A10 in his GMC AT4-X and has the recall notice for the lock up. He contacted two local dealers this morning (5/3/25) about the software update to the A10. Both dealers told him they were instructed to do nothing until a second letter goes out on the recall. Now, whether that means GM is in process of releasing a hardware update or not...we will see.
From feedback on the A10 lockup FB page, some who have had the A10 software update still had a lockup. Seems the update does not always give the 10k mile threshold prior to lockup.

I recently installed NextGen Drivetrain's 10L60 valve body upgrade kit, though such modifications typically come after engine, exhaust, and suspension upgrades. The kit's components - including valves, gaskets, plugs, springs, and retainer clips - demonstrate superior quality compared to OEM parts, effectively addressing recall-related fluid pressure issues and reducing wear.
Testing the upgrade here in Calgary during spring, I completed the recommended 100-mile break-in period. The performance improvements have proven impressive, validating NextGen's claims. Their solution offers excellent value to Camaro owners, independent of the recall situation. I'm so satisfied with the results that I'll definitely consider NextGen's performance upgrades when shopping for my wife's next vehicle. Like a body, the transmission and engine work distinctly yet harmoniously - the engine (like the heart) generates power through consistent motion, while the more complex transmission (like the brain) strategically manages this power. The transmission's sophisticated valve body serves as a control center, using hydraulic fluid, valves, and solenoids to orchestrate gear changes. While the engine operates optimally at 1,000-2,000 RPM, with redline being unsustainable, the transmission intelligently selects gear ratios based on speed and load conditions. Through its intricate network of components, the transmission "works smart" to maintain efficient engine RPMs for comfort and fuel economy, only allowing higher RPMs when performance is prioritized. Send me an email if you have a question and I'll post and share the Q&A with the forum. |

I already tuned my TCM, but I'm wondering if you noticed any changes in your trannys behavior? Are there any other observations, since the install, that you've gleened? Thanks for all your information!

I no longer have issues with stuck gears when roll racing or coming out of corners. NextGen said I would notice an improvement in shifts, and so far, they are right. |
