I'm probably going to switch out my lid from the MPI to this one eventually. I am definitely not going to be powder coating though. I'll just be spraying a base primer, then a factory color matched paint.

Okay, got the lid on, looks great, but need some opinions… I found some aluminum “LT4 Supercharged” emblems online, and am thinking about putting them on, to help break up some of the red. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

I like the idea on adding something to the lid... I have an all Red lid as well, and it just looks to plain jane to me, like something is to make it pop correctly! I like your idea of adding something and never thought about it until I saw your post ! Good work !

BRO.... that looks KILLER in matching RED!!! I also like the badges, but thats pretty subjective.

Those badges look killer on the lid! I actually got some ZL1 badges that are ready to put on my lid but the PC job they did on it is absolute garbage that is flaking and chipping everywhere.

I like the badges. I think they would look even better centered rather than closer to the edge of the lid.

Did any of the powder coating come off when you torqued down the bolts?

Ha! I actually have been playing around with the placement of them, and agree, they do look better more centered.

I put a dap of grease under the washers, and between the washer and the bolt head, when I torqued them down. I haven’t seen any problems with the powder coating yet, but next time I take it off, I guess I’ll know for sure. I was thinking the grease would let the bolt turn on the washer, and hopefully eliminate any twisting on the coating.

That thing looks sweet in red. I saw this thread too late as my DSX lid arrives next week. I had it powder coated in GMs Red Hot to match my car with ZL1 machined on both sides. Once it arrives, I'll color fill the Zl1 with gloss black to break up the red and match the rest of the car's red/black colors.

Nice. I was going to go that route originally, but figured I’d try the new DMS lid. Those laser etched DSX lids are sweet though!
